Would you rather have had Male Viera or Hrothgar?

Oh I though something else. I personally wouldn't have minded waiting until 6.0/7.0 to get a double full race release, but I'm not completely sure if SE would do that

No, from the start you are dead wrong.

A race is 1 male model, 1 female model and 2 clan differences for both. What are we getting in shb? Exactly that. What you're asking to be added? Exactly that. It is not easier to make a male viera or female HROTHGAR just cause we're getting the other half in shb.

I believe they're assuming everybody here will be adults who will vote only once, and not little children who want everything to reflect what they think regardless of how it's done.

I am inclined to believe the votes cast are real. People have warmed up to Hrothgar since Yoshi P's recent letter and I presume even more so will follow after the benchmark drops.

I think all the negativity thrown at Hrothgar well it was in its unfinished state will leave people pleasantly surprised. I do notice a huge trend of people accepting, if not liking, the new race. Now look at Viera and the Instagram leak of its character creation, where it is shows an opposite trend where people are being judgmental. It is most likely to over hyping the race.

I just don't get why there's so much ppl that's so quick to tell someone that they are wrong and will never get something because hey themselves already got what they want. Bet if hrotgar was female only and Viera male only all the ppl insulting us would be the ones complaining and I bet they'd appreciate respect. I appreciate every point of view on almost every subject unless it's hurting others, and I do appreciate every point ppl make both in favor and against the gender locked races. What I'm going to respectfully ask you is that you stop treating everyone who wants the gender lock removed with a very disrespectful and offensive tone, and for other people to do so too. You don't have to want, care, or even accept male viera, but you have to respect those that do so, and that is something that you have NOT done at all. Let's also not forget that almost everybody who wants male viera is asking and is willing to be patient and respectful towards everyone, and the male viera thread(and many others too) are proof to all of the points I made. I don't want to start a fight, so I will not respond to anybody trying to do so, just wanted to let you know that I'm sure lots of people would appreciate you bring respectful, just like many others. Also,i want to make clear that I'm not trying to personally attack you in any shape or form, but I decided to use this post because I had just reader it. With respect, my two cents

Not only is this, as someone else said, a loaded question, but it is entirely black and white and runs a high risk of skewed results.

He's entirely delusional. He's attempting to push false hope and build expectations for something that Yoshi P himself said not to expect any time soon. Every time I see him post it's about how we'll have missing genders by 6.0, or maybe 5.x by the latest and that's just spreading misinformation. Misinformation will cause another explosion when 6.0 arrives and there's still no viera men.

I would rather have Hrothgar.

Asking to have one race now and the other later is a cop out. Sure it feels nice to please everyone, but when you don't take into account the limits that exist in reality then you aren't really making a decision at all. It's just wishful thinking. The fact is that there are no plans to have more races after SHB.

The devs don't have the luxury of dreaming up results and they have my respect for being able to make a controversial decision about what is best for the game, knowing that every option is going to disappoint some players. This conversation has been a good reminder of why we, the players, don't get a say in how the game is made.

I wish people would stop arguing over whether or not we should have gotten male viera/female hrothgar and just work together to demand that SE make BOTH of them.

This game at present actually only has one race: human. All the choices are just ear and tail variations.

Hrothgar is actually the second race to be playable in FFXIV.

As of 5.0 we will only have 2 playable races:

Human and Furry

If we'd gotten male Viera we'd still only have one race.

So the choice is obvious - Hrothgar is the more important addition. That said since it's gender locked to the gender I don't play myself, I won't have one... But it is the first actual race option this game has.

I literally said that I am HOPEFUL that they are here at 6.0. Also saying that I'm PERSONALLY sure SE will be able to figure something out is not spreading miss information. It doesn't matter if I give my PERSONAL OPINION on something (stating that it is) or not, if they don't have he genders for 6.0, obviously some people will be disappointed, and they have the right to be so. I have never once said people cannot be dissatisfied or complain. Not a single time. The delusional comment is aimed at the comment you made stating that they "can make the opposite genders in 1 - 2 months if they tried." Which is entirely untrue. You can be hopeful all you like, but don't say that they will for sure be around by 6.0 when none of us know if or even when they will be added. My point is, keep yourself grounded. Don't get lost in a headcanon that will set you up for disappointment like everyone did when viera were first announced, completely ignoring the blufever leaks that pointed out there was going to be different races for each gender.

Actually, I wouldn't have cared because I understand that we get what we're given. If I didn't like it, oh well. Others probably do and I'm fine with that. My entire being doesn't revolve around what race to play as in this game. Am I happy we're getting a beastly looking race? For sure! Would I have been upset without them? No. There's no reason to be when I've been playing since 1.0 without them. You truly need to stop your assumptions of others.
