No they won't do that here. It's simply typical fare for this forum. Benchmark is coming hopefully in about 3 weeks and I'll go on to say that regardless of what is found there will be threads hating on this or that. I'm simply so happy we're getting the new races we are, they both look amazing to me. One of my big disappointments with Stromblood was that we didn't get any new races.

Was on PS4 for the last benchmark but not this time around. :)

That reaction was not for the screenshot and I used a funny sentence to make it sound more light, as it is, I apologise if it came out too angry. In order to let you follow up consistently, instead of decontextualise my last post alone, a sum up of what happened follows.

First I made this commented where I express the options being less than my expectations:

Someone asked why and I answered, a bit late, that the "more customisable" part was mentioned at Fanfests but that I acknowledge it's a just a screenshot of one setting in the customisation meaning nothing at all and that I find it just a bit funny:

It was just funny for me that the sneak peek doesn't express that as all: 5 options like the other races and 3/5 options are eyelashes parts.

Someone else asked to point the exact moment when they said it, I answered it was probably in the 30 minutes after the races presentations in EU and JP (now that i think of it it was mentioned in the panel where they shown the drawn versions of the viera faces and some options they have). Someone did have the exact point and shared it. The other person answer was:

So my reaction was slightly heated because, not only I felt used to make a general statement about people I'm not connected to just to trash away some opinions, but because of the lie in the face of truth. Right in the transcription make by them it's said about more unique options and a lot of them.

In front of that what can you say? I should've just /ignore I know but the feeling of being misunderstood and used was annoying.

Now no biggie though, really. Trust me I'm completely fine and not angry.

I agree with you, but please don't make the mistake of put everyone under a tag and build a prejudice. Everyone of us is a different person. You will not see me making any thread to complain about the Viera customisations. In the worst case you will see me commenting something along the line of "so much customisability" in an ironic way and, even if probably misunderstood, it would be meant in a funny way.

I'm on PS4, maybe I'll ask a friend to let me play with their benchmark.

While the face models as others have already said, is identical with what races we already have.. I must point out that viera nose is well shaped which adds on to my frustration with how female au ra nose are..... :(

Is there some lore behind the what I call a "stick nose"?

Hey. Everyone. How about we all wait until the Benchmark at the very least before passing judgement? You know, when we'll be able to actually create a Viera and see all the options available? Because as of right now, all we have is concept art, premade Viera in trailers, and one instagram picture. You people are kneejerking yourselves off cliffs.

I cant wait for the benchmark :) looks promising so far I'd say from all the viera info so far. Really curious to see what the new extra options will be:D

Yes, it’s one angle on the ears. At the risk of coming across as rude, are you insinuating that I can’t make an observation based on the single closeup picture provided or are there more screenshots from other angles that I am unaware of? If I were to expand, are we not allowed to form opinions, positive or otherwise, on the new races based on the limited information we have until we receive more that either compliments or contradicts it? This thread was about that single Viera picture and I commented an opinion, I didn’t suggest that they were indisputably bad or whatever, I simply stated that I found the ears to be poorly dealt with based on that picture.

Anywho, the issue, in my eyes, was that you have these extraordinarily dramatic ears perched on top of a humanoid’s head and yet the entire scalp retains a perfectly spherical shape with arguably no real blending whatsoever at the transition. It quite simply looks like they created a human race and then clipped two ears into the scalp. With exception to certain hairstyles - as some other poster pointed out - miqo’te ears do a better job at appearing as though they are natural protrusions from their head when you observe them at their base despite not having quite the same expectations placed upon them, given that they are are significantly smaller features.

Put simply, it does not look natural at all to me. More like a fan-made mod that was created for a hyuran-like race.
