Coming in Version 2.0!

Anyone know if we'll still be able to invite people to parties from anywhere and will we still be able to see what people post in chat log while changing zones? Not being able to get parts of a conversation because of zoning in 11 was annoying. :(

I can't imagine they would have fixed this for FFXIV 1.0 just to bring back the bug in 2.0. Should be safe, hopefully!

I thought they were redesigning the cities >.> It would make sense though if the dalamud thing destroyes them! I really hope they do..especially grid. Also want to know more about SMN...do we get to use whips!?

Edit: Actually I just re-read all the PDF...and in the System and Content it says "Redesign of all non-instanced areas for version 2.0."

Well..the towns are not instanced....

I remember YoshiP stating they made sure to avoid that one in one of the earlier interviews...

Good to know wasnt sure if the way zoning worked prevented chat logs from happening during zoning

The entire world is being remade, including cities. There was some plans of the cities posted in one of the Live Letters

The Question becomes, are they staying with the Current set up, 1 Weapon= 1 Class/Job Or they planning to do Optimal weapon will work the best with like DRG= Best with Polearm, but can use other weapons as well just your not good at them :P.

Personally, I like the Current Setup, I feel like all my efforts go to my one weapon of Choice and I Learn everything from it and Master the wonders of Dragoon! (Polearm) :D

The image of the broken aether is intriguing. Its a bit reminiscent of the shattered telepoints at the crags in XI. Seems like it has the potential to be connected to accessing restricted areas at some point in the future.

I still have yet to see an aether glow red in game :(

From what I understand the chat is through a separate server, you will notice if you R0 from the game you can still chat with your LS etc.

Hopefully they keep this the same, as you say losing chat due to zoning was a pain.

but i like boobs...

I personally hope that they give a nice range in bust size. From large (without reaching ridiculous), to downright flat.

Agreed. To mention the game that MUST NOT BE NAMED and also Star Ocean III among others, one of my great passtimes in RPGs is exploring the map. I do hope it's more of a "reveal 5-10% of the map at a time" than a "pixel hunt for that last .00003% of the map" kind, though. Still, I'm looking forward to doing some exploring after 2.0 comes out.

You know, due to the japanese to english translation awkwardness ... BUST probably means HEAD, not boobs. Why would they leave a blank line after bust if they meant chest size? You will probably be able to change their ear size or something.

Existing characters can be remade to new charactesr at 2.0. Also, our current characters while look slightly different in 2.0. so we have the option to change or keep. Idk source link sorry.

They left blank lines on other things too. The point was to give it away without actually completely giving it away. Miqote's ____, familiar _____, Bust ______ Yoshi was having fun lol.

Also mistaking bust for head is highly highly unlikely, because Japanese has a very specific word for head, and in no way would anyone mistake it for bust. Awkwardness in Japanese -> English comes mostly from social meanings, rather than words for specific things. For example, Japanese has a lot of constructions that carry with it a certain "feel" that can't be accurately translated in English. When we say a command, the feel behind it is expressed through either force of tone or context. In Japanese, they have multiple command constructions that imply different things (joking, strong suggestion, actual command, threat, etc).

Basically its not really plausible to mistake head for bust.

Practically speaking, head size is rather pointless if you can't increase the size of other body parts in proportion. In other words, its highly highly highly unlikely unless the entire body was customizable, at which point bust size would surely be included anyway.
