Nope, I just don't do PvP content in any game. the DF anywhere queues for LoV is for the PvP aspect. Hence why I wouldn't have known about it. PvE AFAIK still requires you to go to Gold Saucer (which is fine for PvE IMO)

Unfair, unfun, and complete crap, more so in phase 2 when his hitbox from charges is the size of the entire map it feels like, and i find myself still getting pegged even though i'm moving the very second rath looks at me. Which is even better as a black mage.
Three life crap plus ohko attacks isn't fun. It's an exercise in frustration. There's a REASON the nes games and arcade games moved away from this model. And while it works in mhw it totally does not in 14. If any more content like this comes out then i don't plan on touching it.
Dunno what to tell you other than git gud? The fight is actually quite fair while being pretty easy and generous with his telegraphs. His 2nd phase is honestly easier than his first once you get the rhythm down. Even with lag he's still more than doable. It's literally just spread out, do an action or two as he swoops at a party member, strafe till he swoops again, do two actions again during the swoop, stack for fires and repeat till he falls. When he gets back up prioritize straffing cause he'll go right into a swoop as he gets up. His pattern is really brain dead. People just need to pay attention and not be greedy.
With a bit of practice and folks who have caught on to his pattern too, you'll be downing him in like 8 or 10 minutes a run. Took only like 4 days of doing 15 runs a night as healer. This was all pugged btw.

Over 60% of my hotbar, I access with my mouse, so this fight has not been enjoyable for me. I'm at 4 clears so far, but I'm guaranteed at least one death each clear. I've cleared all Extremes except Shinryu, and have o5/6s on farm since early on in the tier. This is just not the kind of content I do well in, unless I am using a gamepad with limited number of abilities on a console and I don't have to look at a hotbar at all. Which is not the case for FFXIV. I HAVE to have some of my attention on it and I'm not exactly a young player anymore.
I wouldn't suggest anything about them nerfing this. I'm just commenting that this kind of fight in an mmo is a major head bang for me. Still beateable but... Ugh.
Eh, I can see why this fight is hard for some people, and server ticks don't help. Plenty of times I know I've dodged the charge or poison claw and hitboxes betray me, but that happens all the time in MHW. In MHW though, a claw swoop doesn't chunk me for 90% of my health (not to mention I can block it...) Even G-rank Raths don't do that in the older games, so I think he does hit a wee too hard on non-tanks.
On the other hand, maybe this illustrates how broken tanks are in this game. Doing 80% the damage of a dps in exchange for being able to take 3-4 of those hits in a row on a fight with a lenient midpoint enrage and no actual enrage? I'd like to see 4 healers do it at min ilvl.
The fight will only get easier as people get gear and bigger health pools though, and he's not going anywhere at least.
This event sucks. I can't even find get a queue for it because apparently no one wants to grind this boring crap anymore.
Noone ever uses duty finder for ex primal (cept jp apperently) so dont blame the fight for that.
Try to duty finder tsu and it will pop after like an hour, this is a community thing as we want to have more options (ilv required and special set ups)
I dunno what people are sayign when tehy say you cant DF it,i only Df it and i usuaky tag under 5 min
Have you tried:
A) Making your own group
B) Asking in FC
C) Asking in LS
It's 4 man content, just because nobody has posted up doesn't mean nobody is willing to run with you. Finding 3 other people isn't hard (especially when compared to trying to find 7), and the tools are there for you to do so.
Well it's not that the event sucks, sounds more like your social skills. Most people will handle things within the first week, so of course it would slow down, that is like with any event -.-/ As for assistance just ask your FC, your friends? , LS? hell maybe party finder might work -.-. Point is you need to TRY.
Just party finder it. You will have better luck
Maybe I got lucky, spent a few hours in learning parties to get my first kill; spent a few hours in "close to clear parties" to hone in on the mechanics/dodging of the fight; then went straight into farming it. Had the mount and armor pretty quickly, (guessing in about 80ish pulls). Honestly the most "extreme" part of the duty was weeding through the "Farm Party" PF traps to find a solid team to knock out 5-10 clears with in a row.
Oh, the moment when your farm party queues in and the other 3 members are "viewing cutscene" and you get the notice for bonus first time clear tomes..........
I had fun with the trial, and I mostly used the Ex as a means to get an early taste of Monster Hunter mechanics. Wasn't exactly the way as it went down but it still taught me how to dodge and how to tell what type of attacks he's gonna use by observing his movement and roar.
I love how everyone is saying "git good"... when this fight can have a few major drawbacks... server timing, lagging... those things can make this fight a nightmare. One day I had so much lag, that even though I dodged him, and was behind him. I died because of server lag, I didn't dodge.
The 3 deaths just makes it so much more frustrating. Because the fight is working against you, maybe if he didn't 1 shot everything but tanks. If they want it fair, tanks should be 1shot too. And can't absorb stacks solo, so you actually have to do mechanics. Which all of you that got the mount probably ignored half the stuff he did.
And congrats to those that got it done day 1... now you can go and be board instead of enjoying over time. As this event has no end. Instead of yelling at people because maybe, there's other factors interfering in this fight, that they have no control over. Maybe leave them be, your done. Who cares if it's nerfed. Your never going to do it again anyways. You got your dragon, show it till the next mount comes and then never use it again because you have to show off the next greatest and latest.
People say "git gud" to troll people with attitudes like yours. I mean really; first you basically deride a section of the playerbase for playing the way they like, then call for nerfs since people have beaten it?
Why can't UwU be EX dungeon difficulty? You beat it, you got your title etc.
The fight has ton of replay value to it and you don't even need to bring tanks for it at all. It can be done with any setup and that's probably the best thing about this fight.

SE doesn't like us playing the content our way. Look at Eureka Anemos, we make fate train to make it manageable, they make Pagos which is even worse. But saying the content is easy, and I did it all in one day, so should you. Isn't any better. All I was saying is, maybe look at it from another perspective and what possible limitations or hating are making this fight unbearable.
UwU wasn't designed for the every day player. It was designed for the 1% player base that beat savage day 1 and wanted something harder, and then you cry for something easier and it's ok. So using that as an example doesn't work. And comparing UwU to this fight is even worse...
they nerf content, maybe they set it to high. It's an event, everyone should be able to play and enjoy it. Asking for a small amount of damage nerfing doesn't ruin the fight, it makes mistakes abit more forgiving, and less frustrating.
