So far as content goes, this is the first one of these lists with which I've been wholly comfortable, basically o.o
Hurrah.
Also yay private rooms! I wonder if we'll be able to customise them any prior to 2.0.

Thankyou very much for the info. LOL I just want to run around in my new AF, I like thm but the AF looks hot.
Now regarding player houseing hopefully if not in the upcoming up date, maybe later, players can actually decorate their house walls with weapons (like a trophy room or something). This would be a nice add to player houseing instead of just tossing everything into a little box. This would also help players that like to collect (horde) items and what not and help with inventory issues some players have. I tend to keep my inventory clean but it would be nice to put up weapons that are rare/ex or U/U that you want to keep for the hell of it.
That's not actually entirely true. We don't know enough about their team organization to know for sure, but when we first heard about 2.0, Yoshida-san implied that there was a completely separate and distinct team working on the 2.0 engine. If this is indeed the case, delays in the current content would actually have literally no effect on the pace of development on 2.0.
As to the patch itself, sounds quite intriguing. Enough so that I will have to make time to play some more this week (I haven't had the time to play in recent weeks, so this incentive is quite welcome).
I dont think it will be something only for parties, but as i see it if you are a black mage maybe you wont be able to equip cure spells at all , only damage spells like aero, fire, thunder, stone, blizzard and their current combos tiers, so as black mage you will be perfect for damage dealing but wont be able to cure anyone or yourself, so for solo content it would be wiser having a class as current than a job.
im a bit dissapointed for not having hamlet defense yet but from what i read it sound kinda interesting that all clases and jobs will have their role in those events, maybe carpenters, armorers and other crafters may take repair roles there.
I hope to get a huge PvE events when implemented.
They are implementing housing in 1.21Quote:
Not til we get our own personal housing.
A good info packed letter! While sad that hamlet defense is postponed I hope it is because they thought of more cool stuff they wanted to add to it to make it fun.
Also, 2 week delay is disappointing but not really surprising.
I would imagine it will work like it does in TOR. If you log your character out in a specific location (like in your house for instance), you will get an xp bonus the next time you log back in. In TOR, the longer you stay logged out in said location, the longer the xp bonus lasts when you come back.
I didn't see any mention of party flag, /anon, offline personal messages to friends, /lsmes or removing linkshell members who are offline.
Yes, I know that there are a lot of changes planned for 1.21. Seems like these fixes wouldn't take that long to do though.
Don't even go all whiner etc. It's just my harmless opinion.
I'm not so sure it is temporary, actually. Remember, 'our houses' will be on company estates - spaces owned by the free companies.
As such, my money is on the Private Room system being for characters that aren't in a company with an Estate. It seems to me a pretty nice solution too, so I hope I'm right.
I'm pretty confident that by 2.0 / the release of the full housing system, private rooms will be decorable and perhaps be able to grant any bonuses you can get from different furnishings and so forth. Meanwhile, free companies that go to the effort of having an estate will give their members access to the gardens, basements, and customisable exteriors that Yoshida mentioned along with everything they permit (like say, chocobo rearing), as well as the indoor stuff private room-users get access to.
CYBER TIME
It would take long to do when you handle alot of your interface serverside. Messaging for example is a client feature which the only server interaction is sending and receiving it, XIV isn't built to do that which is why they said it won't happen until the new servers are up and running so it can handle doing all of that stuff.
They can add in text commands, but stuff planned for around 2.0 is still going to be released in 2.0.
I don't think anyone ever really said that SE never delays patches... though I could be wrong and someone might of actually stated such without knowing. What you can find very very easy is where if the patch is not going to be released within the first day of a month its scheduled to be release people will scream it is being delayed and SE lied to them...
The cat is bemused =-.-=
Actually I'm pretty sure it just removes the need to confirm your targeting selection. You kinda need to be able to choose your spell targets independent of your auto-attack targets after all, and.. I don't think that'll be changing.
But while gamepad (and arrow key) users do need to be able to flick the cursor around before confirming what it's on as their active target, mouse users don't - the mouse is their 'cursor to flick around'. What they click will generally be their primary selection and they do not need to confirm that by clicking a second time as they currently have to.

How I truly felt when I saw the awesomeness of this patch.

Sorry to bump the thread, but any clue as to where Cutter's Cry would be? Found the entrance to Aurum Vale (that YouTube link gave it away lol), but can't seem to locate the other one.
Good question! It's worth bumping the thread again to see if anyone has any insight in regard to this.
Cutter's Pass IS close to those buildings that look like mako reactors. Others on this forum have said that they are supposed to be extracting energy that is used to power Ul'dah, but I don't know who the official source of that lore is. In any event, it would be really interesting if Cutter's Cry had something to do with the reactors. I'd love it if there was some kind of underground facility that the raid took place in, but I think that completely new environments are probably too much to ask for before 2.0.
/end wild speculation
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new raids. :)
mmmm....bombing mission from ff7 comes to mind
that would be awesome!!!
