This is a very important question that must be answered

This doesn't look ridiculous to you?

And this? Where is the magical land where people wear giant bird and pig suits?
I will never understand people that complain about clothing additions/modifications in this game. If you don't like it, ..... just... don't wear it? Aside from the fact that men irl do actually wear shorts like that, the concept of "logical fashion" clearly has very little bearing in a place like FFXIV. We experience a world where there are cat people, lizard people, and giants birds that are used for transportation, and rolled up jean shorts are ridiculous? Come on.
UGH Your kidding!!! why is SE so afraid of trying something different for male armor ?! Another pair of slacks that look like everything else thats been done over and over again.
The fact that its pants for male isn't even the issue. The fact that the shirt looks elegant and French and they gave us fucking blue jeans to go with it is an affront. :/
I wonder if anyone who speaks Japanese would be able to make a thread in the Japanese subforum asking their opinion as well? Things only really seem to get done if Japanese players are upset about it. :')
I'll never understand the idea of the devs being uncomfortable with men.
Right now, I could go watch a highlander in nothing but a couerl print speedo thrust his crotch into the face of a catboi wearing their racial and gender exclusive crop top, but apparently some shorts is crossing the line?
I figured they would've made them go down to the knees on the males.
Agreed. Despite the fact that female characters being the majority seems like a much more reasonable and logical explanation as to why the glamour situation is the way it is currently, I have a hard time believing that devs would come right out and say they're uncomfortable with males.
The reason that was 'officially' given when asked about the bunny suit in PAX was this:

"Here's a hefty claim about the devs, but I don't have a source" isn't really effective.
I agree. When I brought up this issue with friends of mine, I received "Why don't you just play a female then?" as a response, which to me is absurd. I'm a male, and I like playing masculine characters. There's nothing wrong with males playing females, but it's not something I choose to do, and "Play a female" is a ridiculous answer to the issue.
Perfectly fair. I'm pretty certain they said this in one of those Q&A things, but I can't really find it. To be honest, I don't even know what they're called or where they're even done at. If anyone can just tell me of the places they normally do these, I'd be glad to do a better search.
I've played both male and female and tend to switch around. But one of the things which I tend to play more as female than male is exactly how often I see males getting the designs with the least effort, or just down-right make you question their irl dress code. I wish they would just make more gear design contests for glam items too, and be much more open to ideas rather than "what fits the game"/"lore-friendly".

Would it really have been so hard to job-unlock this for the spring pants, SE?
Gender locking gear or changing gear based on gender is ridiculous. If some people want to dress a certain way, let them dress a certain way. If you don't want to dress your character like that, don't. Make OPTIONS. It's not a hard concept...
they dont want us showing our superior bodies
