Why do people say no?

if you have good reasoning and state why, theres nothing wrong witht hat

but how many people only make posts and state things like
"we should have dynamis because final fantasy 11 had it and it was awesome"

and then leave the post at just that....way too many, and thats why its always being shot down

Though you still say no when people give good reasons inside the thread why it should be implemented, like my signet thread.

in that case i personaly just did not like that system, we are getting different versions of "competitive play between nations" here im sure

If you're going to suggest such things you need to really get into it. Not just suggest some system and a few points and go on about your nostalgia mumbo jumbo. State how it will work in this world, why it should be included, how it could be balanced, ect.

Most threads I read of yours are just suggesting things directly from XI and I don't find anything going on upstairs. I don't even think you know why you'd want it incorporated within Eorzea. You just cannot get over XI.

Exactly, a good example is me suggesting a dynamis like feature here

1) Is large scale combat to an extent, gets alot of people involved and takes a good ammount of time to do
2) its got several goals within it, so you dont have to go in just to go after a boss( mob drops are always nice, so you may focus on full clears, or go for a boss based on what you are trying to do)
3) if enough drops are added to it, you end up having it being a very longterm thing to do.

some changes made to it

1) do not give it a 3 day wait, give it a 1 day wait(remember its going to take hours to do so its not a bad idea to put a larger timer on it)


i could go on and on about how you could imp,ement a dynamis type system, but you basicaly gotta give it real thought instead of "i liked it in 11 please add it here"

"it was enjoyable isnt a valid reason, since of course you enjoyed it if you suggest it


the basic idea is to actualy put thought into it rather then spew off post afdter post of ideas from other games purely because they are from those games, you gotta sell the idea, not just present it

Ya, you are right, I could elaborate more on my thoughts, though, I am lazy to do so. So, that's why I have others do that for me. If I don't present the idea, it might not get presented at all. That's what I do, nothing is wrong with that. In not one of my threads do I say anything about nostalgia, nor can you presume what I think or feel. FFXI was a great game, would I play it all over again? No, I wouldn't. I do however want this game to be just as good and rememberable soo I can have some of that nostalgia mumbo jumbo in this game, when I look back on it, not to recreate old memories.

Now, we can go back to your OP with this now that we established that there is nothing going on upstairs. The percentages are actually pretty low and are pretty spread out. FFXI always comes out on top as highest percent, but that doesn't mean that collectively that whole region played XI, you see.

Also, those statistics are incredibly old at this point. However, we can still use this for right now... just not in the sense that you'd like it to and against the point you're trying to make. If collectively in the player's poll, more people have not played XI than have, why do you insist on making that the reference point? This just shuts other players out in the discussion. What we need to do is take inspiration from systems we know and enjoy and collectively give the guide lines of what we feel works as far as end game content goes and so on.

Loosely on what TheVedis said, take a system you know and you liked and explain the generic, and more importantly, universal points in why it would be beneficial to develop this type of content. It doesn't have to have a label. When you use key words like, "Dynamis" or, "Limbus", this doesn't segregate the spirit of the content from the actual image and feeling of left-over nostalgia, or in some people's cases, frustration. Not everyone liked XI. No offense, but I think it's very hard for people to separate the two. On top of confusing people who don't even know what those terms mean.

Again, try and describe the spirit of the content more. This hits members more affectively because it's not really tied to anything directly. You can keep your ideals in line with what you usually had fun with without the haters coming in shouting, "You just want FFXI-2." Maybe you do, maybe you don't. Still a good way to get over their heads though and it keeps others who haven't played that game feel included.

Dynamis is not awesome, its an EVIL SIN THAT NEEDS TO DIE, because it wont drop my AF2 i need...

it not only dropped the af2 i needed every time i went in, i even got the -1 versions on top of it for 5 seperate jobs in a few months times!
i loved it(im lucky as hell, dont forget, im also 4 for 7 on ifrit drops lol)

dynamis was boring as hell on the long distance :X something less linear is welcome

I spent a solid three years doing Dynamis twice a week and saw three rdm hats drop. All for which I was out bid. Pup gear however, well they rained like dollar bills at a bachelor party.

Just a matter of what gear your after and the mood of the RNG.

Yeah and sadly these days it's near impossible to walk out of Dynamis without a full inventory of AF2 lol. (Including Duelist Chapeaus..so much so you'll be tossing them like crazy.)

when i went in with my rdm, i for the drop from every area the 1st time i went in.....i was special lol (i had the full warrior set too 1st try), my whm took the longest, id say maybe 3 trys per area. blm i got it in 2-3 trys per area too.

games evolve, equiptment becomes outdated and this is what happens because of it, but back then, they were prizes to be coveted

Yep -- Before jump specific gear (and gear in general) was released Wyrm Greaves were a good Jump Macro piece.

Regardless of that, they completely went all out on some pieces and some sets, and on others they just completely bombed.

Yeah, it was sometime after CoP iirc, since the NM that drops it is on Puro Island -- Either that or we had no idea how to get it for awhile (you know how SE was with not even throwing out hints of where to get new items like this lol.)
