I actually looked this up some time ago but the no male nipples thing isn't a censorship law thing. Most of what I saw pointed towards it being just being visually appealing but like, to who? I thought Japan was supposed to not care as much about nudity given how onsens are a thing but they really seem weirdly fixated on male nipples.

To the preference of the individual artists most likely. Which is why it's inconsistent on whether they have them or not even within the same genre and media type.

Yes please. The older Final Fantasy games have male nipples, too. For example Tidus father Jekkt was also not displayed like a barbie doll.

I really don't get why they decided to remove male nipples. In my personal opinion this looks very disturbing.

But mods are against TOS.
And btw, your solution excludes all players on PS4/PS5.

There are mods which gives male characters more attractive (well, IMO) features, but they're often packaged with really weird anatomy that I find off-putting. I would like the dev team to try a more sensible approach.

Jokes aside, it wouldn't surprise me they're seen as something feminine or indecent tbh, so few anime and games show male nipples it's actually easier to list which ones do do. The silliest part is that male Highlanders have nipples, they're just PS1 level detailed - literally just tiny dents in their pecs lol

Calling Japan censors male nipples on JRPG because of sexual already a moot point. Sure some artists still don't draw male nipples, but there's quite plenty game shows it.

Oddly enough, Jecht has nipples in FF10, but not in Dissidia games. So something is going on to make them censor these things.

As for FF12, you're thinking of Basch. He has them when speaking to Gabranth in Nalbina Dungeon. Just checked on the Zodiac Age version.
