They really should at least allow the reserve squad go on missions 'of a different rank' than the primary squad. Like one can do trainee, the other can do routine, they both come back and can do 3x training each day together.

For those who still didn't notice: your recruits change their equipment when you reach certain levels.

Same here. I literally had 7 recruits in a row with green hair until I finally got someone without it.

I notice I have everyone in your screenshots except for the Au Ra too. In fact, I haven't run into a single Au Ra yet and I feel like I need one.

squadron with unique gear won't change their gear.

It could be an option with a future patch. I think the devs wanted to introduce the concept, and then build on it. I'm sure that we'll be able to do more stuff in the future. I like the squadron concept, and really hope that SE builds upon it.

I just started yesterday and already got my 1st draft pick, a Male Elezen Paladin. Now I was wondering should I go for an all Elezen squad or get one of every race. Hmm? Dilemma, dilemma.

Well yeah i want all 5 of them but having an active squad of only Femroes is my main goal. The 5th will be an extra.

That's what retainers are for.

This isn't meant to function the same way. I'm okay with this if they eventually add some personality to the characters.

Today I got the unique Au Ra monk from doing Guildhests. Exactly what I needed compared to the massive storm of archers I had before. :D

Gold Saucer seemed to be good luck. Every Challenge I did produced a recruit. I got 8 now. Only wish I didn't get a 3rd tank. I might have to let one go when a new DPS recruit shows up and it'll be sad. Why can't just put them on reserve instead of dismissing them. I would rather collect all 60 recruits with my elite 8 on standby for action and the rest on call for when I need to switch. Dismissing is just too cruel for these up and coming adventurers.

She's the unique female Au Ra recruit, Khorchi (assuming you're talking about the one with the pirate hat). According to this spreadsheet...

She can come from Gold Saucer, but there's one other challenge log method for finding her that no one running the spreadsheet has found out yet.

They just updated the spreadsheet. Unfortunately Khorchi is one of 6 recruits that ONLY comes from Gold Saucer, which makes her one of the hardest recruits to get.

I confused about Training Missions, specifically which Recruits get XP.

First Training Mission of the day I choose Comprehensive. Only my initial four recruits can get XP, regardless of who is selected in the Team via the Sergeant. Second Comprehensive of the day only my recruits 5 and 6 are getting XP if I select Comprehensive. If I select one of the other missions only recruit 5 is getting XP.

Help me understand this please and whether there is anything I can do to help decide which recruits get XP for Training Missions.

For the training all of your recruits get exp if they're not out on an actual mission. They may not necessarily level however, which seems to be what you're seeing. The initial set will level evenly until you ever split them up, while your later recruits will be at various levels of experience not matching up to each other perfectly.

Comprehensive training gives 3k XP to the members that are present and not on a mission. It's practically impossible for all members to be exactly even on XP, so the 3k will enough for some to level up but not all, they will however still get the XP and level up next training.

Yep, the arrows next to their portrait are only letting you know that a specific recruit will actually level up from the training.

Not that they're the only ones getting xp.

I got her too I think it was from either HQ crafting, GS minigames/triad, or guild heists cuz those were the only things I did to get me 8

You have to accept or deny the first before you can see any others.
