Allow name changes, but with a change log publicly stated. That will also discourage rmt character sales. like pn the lodestone char pages a history of servers/names

If they are allowing gender changed they have to allow name changes lol what if a miqote female named "Princess Peach" changes to a male miqote...kind of seems silly?

Not really, Mario and Peach has no kids, there has to be a reason beyond kidnapping given he has at least 10 minutes with her per game.

This is good news but I have one concern. Say for instance you decide to change your race/gender/appearance but after messing around with the character creation you decide you were actually quite happy with your current character, will this be stored to go back to or will it be a case of if you wish to change, your old model is deleted and you make the new one from there?

AWESOME, please please please give us the option to have a one time name change as well. I personally may not need a name change unless I switch to a female Roegadyn or something and then my name wouldn't be so fitting.

P.S. The snurble is awesome but I think you should try to get Good King Moggle Mog. :)

Yes please, allow a one time name change. A Roegadyn named ummmm Frank Mcman that changed to a Lalafell female would seem a little out of place! Not having this option would be slightly discouraging for players that wish to change genders, I would imagine.

I'd only want to change my surname in my case. I've found long surnames to be detrimental to receiving party invites... even if it's not hard to spell. lol

What about changing city states? Will we get to play through the 2.0 storyline as if we were a new character without rerolling/paying for an extra character? I want to me able to change from Gridania to Ul'dah because thats my favorite city after seeing all 3 city's stories and Id like to be able to see the new storylines when 2.0 comes out but id much rather see it from the Uldahn perspective because thats where my heart is :p

Now, I was wondering, what new appearance features will be added in 2.0 for the existing races?
Will Lalafell have plenty of hairstyles like the other races? More hair colouring? More special features like scars, forehead gems, etc. ?

It would be great if the list would double from 1.0. :D

I'll be honest I've only read half of the post here...but have been reading the forums about this very same subject since SE announced 2.0...and my imput...
REROLL EVERYTHING...fresh start in a fresh new world...anything we have done up to 2.0 should be chronicled...some sort of search function for our characters so we can read about our past adventures...maybe even have something like the goblins in XI who allowed you to re-view past events...

I have actually been part of the team for quite a long time behind the scenes! Have no fear though, I will be doing my best to be on the forum side more often!

If they made your choice of Deity do anything, then yes i would like to have the option to change that. I would also like to change my character's hair color, but nothing else about the appearance (simply because the color i picked turned out a lot lighter than i thought it would, and my highlights are barely even visible). I'm gonna have to say no on everything else though.

But instead of being able to change company, i would like the option to buy gear from other GC's at a higher seal cost, similar to how XI did with conquest point items.

Back on topic, as for re-rolling in 2.0, we are pretty much going back with full character creation with:

• Appearance
• Race/Clan
• Gender

I understand that changing name would be problematic as character data is most likely linked with our names and not some unique ID. Same for a character's home city-state, it's not possible to shift the completed story quests.
However, I was wondering if the character re-roll in 2.0 will also include the ability to change Guardian and nameday. As far as I know, it doesn't affect anything inside the game, it's just for the looks as of now. Will we be able to?

Beside tweaking a few small details on my character, changing Guardian is the thing I would like to do with 2.0 if possible. :S
