Devs, could all of us please get these outfits that the China region is getting?

They will continue to expand the cash shop and push the limits of customers because it is very profitable. They've been doing it already, slowly, to ensure people come to accept it as the standard and don't notice it as much. They've also announced less content per patch alongside more cash shop content being released.

I like this game, but it's pretty clear the direction things are going in.

Yes, it affects my gameplay. How? Because I like to work towards things I want in the game, not open my wallet and get them instantly.

You know the reason they got the pretty outfits? It's because it's a different game run by a different company.

It's also a game that had different laws than ours. For example, no skeleton mobs or gambling are allowed.

I would not be surprised if the gold saucer did not exist at all in their build.

Nope, Silver & Gold dyes were venture items a long time ago. These new tradeable versions of cash shop items are very recent.

It used to be that you put in the work in-game to get items, now you put in the work in real life to get the items. I firmly believe that everything should be available in game to be worked towards, however hard that work need be. That was exactly how FFXIV started & how it was supposed to be forever, with no pay to win or pay to benefit system.

Before anyone says "not pay to win", well if your goal is to have a nice wedding, wearing nice outfits in the colour you want & riding away on a coloured magitek mount then you HAVE TO PAY. There's no other wording for that than "pay to win" because that is what you feel is winning to you.

Except it's not pay to "win" because you're not "winning" at anything. You're just buying items to look pretty. No one gets to define what winning means to them.

If someone feels like a winner by making an awesome looking glamour and gets satisfaction and accomplishment from it, that's just as much of a personal win for the person as someone clearing A4S being a personal win would be.

Not everyone gets the same satisfactions from the same thing, and everyone plays for different reasons. One person's "personal win" is as legitimate as any other person's. No one has any right to tell other people what is and isn't legitimate "winning" for the person. Except Charlie Sheen maybe.

Except the actual definition of winning something means there's competition involved or some element of overcoming an obstacle such as clearing Alexander Savage. There's simply nothing to "win" when it comes to buying glamours. Everyone gets glamours for various reasons, but there's not a single thing about them that lets you win at something. It isn't "my" definition, but an official definition in most dictionaries.

2. to succeed by striving or effort;

You could say someone strived to make a successful glamour, especially if they were the one who made the items for it. :B

as the poster below you has said reindeer hoofs and monkey helms, people who dont own housing get furnishing for what? nada.

Monkey helms seem like the horse helms from last year and lets not point out the santa beard meshes into your chest even when you take off the body piece.

Also void ark gear was pointless to even go after when you have af3 and it drops you a item that puts you to 210 when void ark is 200 even if its glamour it doesn't look that great.

i wonder what gear sets they have on the china version of FFXIV betcha anything some of their sets destroy ours.

So yeah I call it a beat down my words maybe not for you all but hey you are all entitled to your opinions.

It actually is a unique looking model. Even if it was just a reskin in game it is still a suit all classes can wear. Also, the male version which was cloaked looks really cool as well.

I honestly wish they would remove all the "joke" items in the game or make them temporary.

Monkey Hats/Reindeer/Santa suits, they are cool for 3 seconds I guess, or for a joke but not really anything people just wear.

When I see someone speaking in reindoor outfits I usually just blacklist and ignore them, lol.


I will admit, the Moogle Outfit though is cute as heck.

China and Korea's base-games are still the same as ours, it just some stuff cut out or censored (like anything related to the undead), and maybe like one seasonal event (compared to the dozen that they don't have) that has an altered Behemoth as it's boss, a panda minion (which is just a repaint of one of our minons, Nana Bear), and the armor shown above. They're separate servers as SE just licenses the game out to a publisher and have them do all the work, although I believe they still maintain some form of interaction. Yoshida did say it was doing quite poorly in China as it's too much of a grind that you can't just pay to skip like in most Chinese games (I think you can pay so actually skip 2.0-2.55 and get a level 50 now), I doubt they have a dedicated team, it's more likely that SE creates the outfits and sends them over. As for those saying they get patches slower, that isn't true, the game launched later in China than it did here, and thus they're a bit behind but they do get patches faster. It launched a year after ARR in JP/EU/US and they're already on Heavensward.

Even if they are pulling up to speed in terms of catch up, they will always, always be behind us no matter how fast they get the patches modified to fit their region. So yes and no, they don't get it SLOWER but they definitely get it LATER than us.

The law in those countries is why.

I wonder if people who want the outfits would be ok playing with the Chinese version of the game. We get stuff that they dont and vice versa.

They would first have to pay for game-time (per hour), versus a monthly subscription.
I think a little less the $6 (35 yuan) can get you about 3000 minutes (50 hours).

Hopefully they'll add the items to the cash shop or the game itself. I'd settle for a slight variant if they want to keep the current batch 'unique' for Korean/Chinese players.

I actually like it more than our Thav Bustier, I like my characters to be covered up...and this one covers the midriff...#jel.

Eh....there's still no reason to have region exclusive content. Asian themed stuff is VERY popular in the western MMO market. I'd gladly trade off the crap they pawn off on us during these events for something I would actually glamour, like that dress. Quality>Quantity.

We may not like that there are exclusive stuff but I feel its fair they get stuff we don't after looking at the bigger picture instead of just focusing on the gear.

Not exactly. It resembles more of a ponytail version of the low twintail style Miqotes and Lala share. But if it were that hairstyle, people would be pissed. And yes I'd be among them.

Outfit doesn't really matter to me as lalafell ! I can't see details of them on my character! Lol
