petition to make leveling optional (ex. auto-50)

This would be the worst idea ever. A final fantasy noob would not even know how to play their new lvl 50 job. Just a dumb idea.

First off, don't rub me in with those MMO virgins. I've dabbled in playing DD and support, but the one role I've always been adept at was being a tank.

Secondly, I seriously doubt there's a wrong or right way to leveling up efficiently. It almost sounded as though you were advocating some sort of PLing yourself.

Your idea is better than what we have now.

But I'd rather nerf PL, bring back level sync and make everyone work their way through early-mid game. Dedication being the keyword.

The problem is there isn't alot of progression milestones right now. In FFXI you had subjob @ 18, jeuno/chocobo @ 20, advance jobs @ 30, AF @ 50. Also you had garrison, eco warrior, missions, and quest to fill the gap between 1-50. Another thing was zone progression. When you level 1-50 in the same enviroment things can become stale.

SE is working on fixing these problem but we are still a few months off till we reach that point.

Your last paragraph really explains your intentions but the problem is that this isn't a far-fetched idea at all. It would be better than the current situation. It's easy to confuse you for being serious.

Option for instant gratification of levels and everything else in the game?

Log in -> Choose level 50 -> Choose best gear in game -> Wander around -> Kill a few things with my uber.. uberness -> Realize there's nothing to accomplish and that I just skipped the whole journey -> Log off -> Choose new MMO

That would be my experience with FFXIV. ^^; At most SE would receive one month worth of payment from me.

It has gone from the OP being deadly serious, to now jumping on the "LOL GUYZ I WUZ JUST JOKIN" bandwagon because of the overwhelming response to both this and the stupid power levelling whiny threads that have popped up, he seems to have realised that his opinion is in the minority.

They seem to think that their opinion represents that of the community, but of the ones that have posted here, the majority seem to roll in favor of the current system, and enjoy it.

It really is this annoying yappy dog type vocal minority though that will try to blanket canvas in an attempt to seem like people want this to change, when infact it seems that the community at large enjoys it, being as they are all out either doing a bit of powerlevelling, or farming up LS materials (such as Karakul Fleece), or doing endgame events, they aren't on this forum raising their fists to the skies in outrage, because, THEY ARE ACTUALLY ENJOYING THE GAME FOR ONCE!

This idiocy is an example of why you shouldn't take the forums seriously. The game has gotten better since 1.19, but half the forums are bitching. And in the end of the day, mmo forum goers are often a whiney, spoiled, malcontented lot. If SE gave you all lifetime subs for free, you'd cry you couldn't bequeath it to your damned children.

idea is retarded, not enough stuff at endgame to keep people playing til new content comes, others earned their stripes, you should damned well have to, as well, skipping to the end defeats the very object and is a direct insult to the FF brand (as if launch wasn't enough already).

I can't believe this tread exists. OP you are out of your mine, Why don't we give an option to everyone to auto win the ifrit battle and every other content. Why do you play this game again? This is a joke thread, surely? Option to start at level cap!!!! Why not just do away with lvls altogehter. Or better still, why not have an option where you simply watch your character win the game.

Better still, why not have the choice to turn all the mobs into cute lil teddy bears. Ifrit, the horrific stuffed panda! It will take a light kick to knock it down and TATA, you win!

Hell, give them 999.999.999 Gil and all Rare/Ex drops and materials for 100 sets of Crafted armor. No wait, not just the mats. Give them finished +3 Gear with 5 materia on it.
And dont forget to give them all DoH/DoL to 50. They dont have to waste time to get Market-Wards working anymore then too, so enough time to create more new gear they can add right to the players Inventory.

I mean, why should we have to do anything by ourself in a Game huh?...

Yes, MMOs are a grind...they're designed that way for a reason. If your method of playing came to pass, every MMO would have about a three-month lifespan, unless the developers could churn out content every month to meet the insane demands.

um... wtf... r u serious?! I totally disagree. This is a MMoG and in all games there is a leveling system... thats one of the basic components of any game. If SE listened to this nonsense I would be done w/ mmog forever!! I am final fantasy only. This is just a dumb thread.

I half agree with you. MMO's are designed around a grind for a reason, but I don't think grinding is an absolutely must for them to be a great experience. There are other options, they are just incredibly daunting for developers so they resolve to use leveling curves as a means to give themselves time.

Which is NOT a bad thing. It makes perfect business sense. Just wanted to say that there -are- alternatives, though we probably won't see the industry pushed towards them within the current generation (or even the next.)

if you want to be auto-leveled to 50 then pay an RMT.

I came in here expecting entertainment.
