you seriously switched your main over from WHM to PLD for skin reasons? you know what glamour is... right?

and what exactly is so ugly about the eso WHM skin anyway? a friend recently gave me this screen and i dont see anything ugly in it

The main gripe I have with the whm set (besides the head piece) is the under shirt. On females it looks like a short dress under a robe, a little stiff but otherwise fine.
On men it looks like a piece if cardboard, and its just ... ugly.
the exception to this is lalafells. they're so short that it just doesn't matter. This set was clearly designed to ONLY be worn by lalafells.

If the cardboard/mini-dress/shirt thing was detached or just wasn't there for guys it'd be alright. edit: or even if it were longer on Elezens, Au Ra and Roes

As others have mentioned, the only thing that I can't stand when it comes to the Orison set is the headpiece. It likely has that ridiculous skullcap to stop people from moaning about hair clipping again. Easier to hide the hair than making it look nice with most hairstyles, I suppose. :p

I wasn't a fan of the WHM gear either, so I put together a new glamoured set. Turned out not bad actually!

To be honest I'm finding the BLM i200 gear to be butt ugly too, I mean that hat is gross. I've resorted to just start glamouring everything so when I finally get all my i200 stuff I'll end up glamouring over that too.

I'd have to agree that I don't like much any of it. It's almost all long robes with ultimately not too much separating how they look, the head pieces are mostly unattractive and, for the higher tier things, you can't dye most of it so everyone looks the same. I've resorted to completely glamouring everything and that's unfortunately not going to change with the Orison, Gordian or PvP things either.

Daystar robe has so far (don't have a level 60 healer yet) been the only one that made me ask my FC mates, "does this robe make me look fat?".....because it kinda did. ;_; And that was back when I was male miqo'te and male elezen...

I felt the same with the Artifact/Mythology armour, actually. Those robes gain something awful in volume right around the waist...

and i absolutely hate AST Esoteric, and the Law gear is also absolutely hideous

I didn't like the hood or robe either, but I couldn't deny the rest of the outfit. LOOK AT IT! (with the head and chest piece glamoured)

The hood is definitely the most...interesting choice of the whole lot. Even worse because whenever I see it the first thing that comes to mind is Robin Williams stand up bit about the luge in the Olympics and I catch myself snickering before realizing 'crap...that's my gear'.

I personally really liked the gloves and boots as well (though the i100 WHM PvP gloves will always be my favorite). I'm not a huge fan of the skirt myself, because I dislike the weird sock things.

The set looks great.

My only complaint is that the best outfit would've been AF1 with the hood up...sadface.

In fact imo the staff is the weak point of the whole ensemble. It looks tacky and much worse than the face staffs that WoW has.

Good thing its not actually the relic weapon.

The probably did the hood that way because the head mesh would probably clip through the sides, since it's at an angle. But all the 3D modeling team have to do is remove the geometry.. but I guess with so many models, they took a shortcut, which is common in the 3D modeling world.

I wish they did what other MMO's do...let people fashion some gear or items, submit them and if they like it, they put it on the mog store under glam and whoever designed the outfit gets a tiny % for every sale. That way, it encourages people to make outfits if they have that talent, gives SE a break, makes them money, gives people options....Of course, there's going to be the ''no I don't want to pay for glamour crowd'' but you don't have to. There's some in game. There's already some for sale on the mog store anyways...We could just improve the quality of it.

You're a female char. The male chars always look worse which just kinda sucks. Look at the pants for men. I'm getting the rest of my ESO gear (almost done) and then I'll just glam it all. Farming the 51-58 dungeons for glam gear atm...It's slow but gives me something to do in between ESO farming.

Well, there's the generic Ishgardian/Halonic/Chimerical Felt gear in different colour variations, Woad Skydruid gear and Orthodox gear from the dungeons in that level range. :p

They're different, at least. Though I can't exactly say I'm crazy about fully covering robes. And the Sky thingies do have that tribal thing going for it, but the arm tattoo looks awful on Au Ra scales. :/

They pretty much are, yeah ^^ Orthodox Robe of Healing vs Orthodox Robe of Casting. Not the best comparison pics, since one's outside in the sun and the other's inside in a fairly dark room, but meh.

I used the Woad set (well, the pants at least, in combination with the Au Ra hempen top and the Au Ra racial sandals, IIRC) for my healer until I was given a thavnairian vest by a friend (♥__♥) Which made me jump GC so I could use the Flame Elite's Loincloth with it. Will go back to Maelstrom once I get tired of using that (and the Flame Elite's Skirt for my tank glamour). The combination does make me look like a really expensive... err... companion, though. At least according to my FC mates who want me to go back to Maelstrom ASAP so they can force me to go PvP with them ^^;

I think outside of AF, the Orthodox gear is by far the best looking gear for any role.

Whoever did that glamour set deserves a raise...the weapons especially are ornate but elegant, and the armor is fantastic too.

Actually, I really like the Orison hood! It has an awesome shape. The cap underneath is a little weird, but I can deal with it :)

All the hoods have caps. This orison hood has a more prominent one though.

It doesn't look bad dyed as a different color. Though I would like to see how it looks in black as well.
