£130 =/= $130

I just wanted to add another voice to this thread, so that SE understands they did a bad. If the CE Edition was the same price as the one at launch or had a fair conversion from dollars/euros to pounds, I would buy it. I don't actually care about any of the extras apart from the blu-ray, I just like to help fund my favourite game, but I can't justify buying it when they are clearly taking giving us the short straw, I'm just going to buy the digital edition instead unless its fixed relatively soon.

Just chiming in here to add my voice. I'm used to games converting really badly when priced for the UK but never THIS badly. I've never seen a complete 1:1 pricing conversion like this. There is absolutely no tax or duty that can account for such a price hike which would mean this price point is pure greed... I have to say I'm shocked SE. I thought you were better than this.

Confirmed that EU can only get the physical CE from the SE store now, too. So they can charge whatever they want, I guess!

You can have the extra money for the physical CE from me once you've adjusted it to the price it should be, SE, that is, the correctly converted price. Until then, you can keep that ridiculous rip-off price up as long as you like, I ain't touching it.

Your choice, extra for physical, or less for digital; I'm eager to get the physical so the money is all but yours, once you stop taking us UK folk for fools.

The Standard edition for PC is €34.99 on Amazon (France).

I'm in the optimistic camp that's guessing that the £129 was a placeholder figure, substantiated by the fact that it couldn't be added to the shopping basket this morning. The store isn't being DDoS'd by avid Eorzeans - the staff are just waiting on the correct £££ price sign-off from the Finance Director who himself is trying to balance his market reports against his projected costs to determine whether S-E should be charging £90 or £95. Once that's been signed off and ratified by the required executives, the store will be updated and put back online and there was much rejoicing etc etc

My only wonder is why it's taking so long.

This is just a joke really, how can you make such a price difference between 2 countries that are just 30km far from each other... don't bring the legal stuff, this is robbery, plain and simple!

Well if they are going to do this it looks like I won't be buying the physical CE now, there is no reason for using a 1:1 exchange rate. Would you swap a PS4 for a PS Vita and be happy about it? Of course not the PS4 is worth over twice as much similar to how the pound is worth 1.5 times as much as the dollar. Sorry SE but if this continues you may be seeing people contact the EU and see them pass laws that you have to offer fair pricing compared to US and JP, they have that power, they have already done it with mobile communication companies (caps on roaming charges etc).

The Euro is slightly different because the gap is not so bad, 129.99 euros is $136.86 and they can justify that gap a lot better.

Just bumping this thread in hopes they'll pay attention to their EU/UK customers. It really irks me when game companies can't be bothered to do a simple currency conversion. Of course, I'll still buy it as soon as the shop comes up...yes, this is why they do it. :/

Hopefully. It's awfully quiet on SE's end.. no twitter update for hours and if it was merely a pricing error and the basket issue, it shouldn't be taking this long to resolve.

At this point I would say no one at community level is getting anything back. It will have been escalated off somewhere, and we'll probably not hear anything on it until tomorrow.

I am appalled!! Totally shocked ,didn't think SE was this type of company! It's totally unreasonable! I actually hadn't posted on these forums since 2011, but this was the final straw... That price gouge is silly.

for my country is just not available, I can only have it shipped in France and the UK but I dont live there at all... so in short, it cannot be pre-ordered or bought unless I have an address in one of those countries. I fournd a pre-order on Amazon that luckily I can have it delivered to my home address, hopefully although not a collector, I will have my copy.

well I don't understand why people are getting so annoyed by this.
Firstly $129.99 is base line price - this does not include tax and some states charge 7% which would the equivalent to $139.09 now todays rate is £1=$1.49 which would then be the equivalent to £93.88.
Now obviously we don't pay american tax so take $129.99 which equals to £87.73 then add 20% VAT which would then equal £105.28.

However then we run into a little known problem called the EU. They want to regulate everything and if you want to sell video games within any EU country you need to pay to have a product evaluated and age rated etc and unfortunately these costs are passed down to the consumer. It is something we have to deal with and if consumers don't want to pay it and if you keep hounding company's for passing down these costs they will just give us the <^> and say well screw bringing out games in the EU so please shut up.

Your argument falls way short... It's ONLY UK that had that price on the site. Rest of EU have it at 130 Euro, which is £92... No need for all that Tax shite, because then everyone in EU would have to pay that ridiculous price, which they don't

It was roughly £90 estimated, £100 at most including VAT. The British pounds get screwed over since the European euros have it for 129.99 euros, which equals roughly £92-£93 rounding up. Anything above £100 is a big **** you to UK customers. The EU currency isn't getting fecked over, neither should the UK currency.

Go check steam/amazon etc and you will see that the prices aren't numerically the same across all the regions. The UK price is normally about 3/4 of the price of the US cost.

If this isn't an honest mistake (which I hope is the case) then this is just an attempt to grab more money from customers by SE.

Sooo how do all other games manage to do all this without marking the price up by an extra $60? you just seem to hate on the EU without all the facts, a few examples from Gamestop (they have a UK and US site so it's perfect) Type-0 HD on PS4 US $59.99 UK £39.97 Bloodborne $59.99 and £44.97 FFX/X-2 $49.99 £39.97 FFXIV ARR $29.99 and £20.97 the only PC like for like of relevance was Diablo 3 $39.99 and £24.47.

How do they do it but they can't for Heavensward if it's the fault of the EU?

Also, the digital version is the same but there isn't even the cost of cross border issues or shipping issues to contend with on that so as before, if this isn't an honest mistake SE are really trying to rip off their customers.

It's not the first time that British & Europeans gamers get screwed, bros.

All we know is when the site was up this morning it was showing £129.99. Nobody was able to order at that point and shortly after they took the site down. We have had no updates since.

Except buying via SE store their quanties aren't limited. When you preorder you put yourself in a queue of sorts for the item. That means you are going to be given the item however when it arrives is subject to shipping. I hate that you guys are getting shafted but you also have to consider that people are setting this up.Mistakes will inevitably occur. Buy it tomorrow.

Thank you very much . I'm just a bit shocked because. Final fantasy type 0 from Amazon.Com and Amazon.UK are correctly price according to their foreign exchange as it should be and so on EVERY SINGLE video game in their websites. Hoping that this is a terrible mistake from them

I really do think this thread deserves some kind of response.
