FINALLY MY CARP/BSM/ALC desynth combo pay off!
Btw, there's 2 big fish needed in 2 of hand-in crafts. Anyone know the stat requirement to caught those? Hopefully it doesn't require any 2.4 gears to meet the requirements.
Some people forget that prices crafters set are generally based on the price of the materials and then increased/decreased based on effort and supply/demand. The amount of effort it took before 2.45 to get a crafter 3* ready was enough of a reason to deter about 95% of the people I know from ever touching a crafting class. The amount of effort it takes now, is severely diminished. The only effort it takes now to get a crafter 3* ready is materia melds and a bit of gil for the Artisan's pieces (prices pending on server's market), and if you know a crafter whose at 3 or 4* level already, thats even less work involved.
This post isn't to you specifically, but a statement in general. Don't hate on crafters because they put work into their crafts, as some people have mentioned "4* crafting sounds harder than SCoB, never touching that shit". I have all my crafters up to 3* (and most at 4*) and I have a max Crit/Det Nexus and I'll say this, neither one is harder than the other, neither one is more time consuming than the other, its just a matter of how hard you grind at one vs the other that it only seems harder/more time consuming.
Know what the hilarious part is? We do all this nonsense, short of punting a Lalafell off a cliff, and the ilevel is only 125.
Does everyone with the quest get the drop or is it randomly distributed? Do you have to roll on it like a chest item?
I heard you get a pop up notice about the item once you leave the dungeon.
From player reports, it is Atma 2.0; A relatively low chance, where it will pop up on screen in a big ol' window when you get it. One person can get it, all four can get it. Praise RNGesus!
and then the xpac comes and slaps all players in the face with a reset of a new relic questline since no new player would ever do all this for a lvl 50 weapon ^^ so if it takes to long to get it/has to much RNG involved dont bother with it. also patch 2.5 will probaly hand out ivl 130 weapons again just like 2.3 did. so if you cannot get relic done till 2.5 dont bother with it guys.
So seeing people say you don't have to have your nexus equipped or even on that job to get your drops, do you even have to have a nexus to start this quest? Would be so nice if I could start collecting these while finishing farming my light at the same time.
Yes you do. You can't begin this quest unless you obtained a Nexus relic.
Oh i am sure fates will be involved, fates are always involved for content ......
Do you have to have the Nexus equipped while running the dungeons? Or do you just have to have the quest open?
I'm 2/3 done with my Curtana Nexus, and just recently finished my Veil of Wiyu Novus. Once I start this quest on my Curtana, can I run the dungeons on my SMN and get lights along with the Nexus quest items? Or will I be forced to run the dungeons as PLD with my Curtana equipped?
Never really understood this bitterness toward crafters. Complaining about having to buy expensive crafting items because you couldn't be bothered to invest in crafting yourself is as silly as a crafter who whines about not getting free T13 carries in spite of not investing in their DoM/W progression.
If you don't have time to do EVERYTHING in this game (and honestly, not many have that kind of time), then you need to pick and choose which things are important to you. On the occasions when you need access to the things you passed up, you have a few choices: Befriend someone who has taken that path and ask them for help, take the time to follow that path now and catch up, or beg or pay a stranger to do it for you.
FFXIV has been notorious about making crafters and gatherers feel like they're superfluous fluff; nearly everything that they provide amounts to little more than glamour, minions, barding - stuff that has little to no effect on actual gameplay. I cheer every time SE adds something that makes these classes feel like they're an actual, meaningful part of the game.
WP grind is real already 0/18
And yet, your example doesn't really fly with me. Why? Because crafters do NOT HAVE to beat T13 to improve their crafting class as Coil has no significance on their ability to craft. Yet, if you're a non-crafter who only likes to participate in war/magic classes running dungeons/Coil, now you are forced to be involved in crafting (in one aspect or another) to continue with your relic, be it crafting these items yourself, coughing up all that gil to pay a crafter or be lucky enough to have a friend who will help you out for free.
does anyone know if perfect items have to HQ or can we hand in NQ version in for the quest?
Any idea where the new Big Fish come from? skill lvl? And what time the new node opens up for BTN?
