I'm probably the worst person on my server to make gil.... I've been struggling to have repair money a lot of times ^^ But...
I don't have any problems at all since 2.2... You get tons of gil by doing dungeons, selling mats from dungeons, even the challenge log gives some. Also you do know that you can sell Myth items that you buy in Mor Dhona ? For 150 myth you get 60-80k gil. That's 3 dungeon runs....
If you have problems with money in 2.2, then you are doing something wrong.
From having 3-10k gil in 2.1 most of the time, I have 200k now, and it keeps going up with all the dungeon runs.... I can buy many prisms and still have lots of money left.
And like other have mentioned, if you really use glamour so much, and have no idea how to make gil, then level up a crafter for gods sake...
You nerds realize we're just playing a video game here, right? I mean, I worked so hard for my fake money and I refuse to spend it on fake vanity items because I'm a Greedy McGreederson. It's a good thing we're not going into battle, because I might have to pay that cutthroat arms mender for repairs and lose all my precious money.
I don't have any crafts higher than 20. So far I like the glamour system. I glamoured all of my summoner gear into Lightning's outfit and I've glamoured different axes on WAR to the lCie Bardiche a few times now (I am leveling WAR so I upgraded weapons). The prisms I've been buying are 3k or less on my server, so it hasn't been an issue for me to keep buying them. I make the money back easily enough doing levequests for venture tokens and Grand Company seals, or running the expert dungeons to try and get gear for vanity.
If I have any problem with vanity, it's that the RNG gods don't favor me. :P I have yet to see the Shikaree doublet, which is what I want to glamour for bard.
I love how this thread is more about me than the actual system itself. Which is horrible. It's convoluted to the point of being silly (what? Like 30 or so different prisms?). You have to have a level 50 character to use it. You have to rely completely on other players to use it. It's way too expensive in a lot of cases for casual use. Etc, etc.
I get it, you guys love the system and you don't mind being bent over by crafters. Good for you. I disagree on all fronts. SE really messed up and unfortunately, thanks to the responses in this thread, they have little to no incentive to fix it. It's too bad, really.
Personally, I've moved on. I just buy the materials and tip a FC mate to make them for me. No way would I pay the ridiculous prices the crafters demand on the market board.
The different prisms were supposed to promote trading between people with different crafting classes. The different grade is baffling however.
Which is easy to get. Why are you complaining? Leveling to 50 is as fast as finishing the main quest line.
Since when is it a bad thing to rely on other players. It's available for you to do in-game. You just chose to ignore it and complain omg I have to go to others to get things? Do you grow your own vegetables, take care of your own farm animals and live under a rock?
Like other people have mentioned, it's not expensive. You can farm dungeons which is what you (DoW/DoM) do and sell the mats to crafters for gil. Why can't crafters make prisms and sell them to you for gil?
So, it allows crafters to bend over other crafters? Nice.
Because once again, this system isn't all about me? In other games, if you get a cool piece of gear like the Foestriker chest piece, you can continue to use it thanks to the games vanity system. Even on your *gasp* first play through! New players shouldn't get to use a new QoL system?Quote:

Since they thought it would be a great idea to mark them up a couple thousand %? Honestly, if you're in a good FC, this isn't an issue, because you can always do what I'm doing now, but if you're in a small FC and you don't enjoy crafting, good luck with the MB.Quote:

You like paying 30-50K+ to glamour one set of gear. Good for you. I personally find that too expensive.Quote:

Either way, I'm done with this thread. So, if you want to discuss the positives and negatives of this new system, or which parts you like or dislike, go for it. If you want to just continue to bash me instead, you can do that too. Go nuts.
All I got out of this is "wah I'm broke and too lazy to do anything that could make me not broke so I'll just blame the system". Sounds legit, stay classy forums.
The irony is that he's calling the crafters greedy.
