The video proves how hate control needs heavy amounts of balancing. In terms of Cure, damage dealing, and damage taking. Hope the reps/dev sees this and address the issue.

Well we had to incorporate 2 lancers and twisting vice back to back to prevent him from using hailmary his hailmary hits for over 4k damage when its lands

Just wanted to say please excuse Gath and his comments he tends to take things overboard, the whole purpose of the video was to just show what our linkshell is currently doing to pass the time while we wait for content we really want to have that missing element of the camping world NM's from ffxi but this it what we have to work with at the current time. But it will fun be to see what they have coming in the future. ^^

Well not to burst your bubble here but what you did really is not all that special. You took down a R99 Mob congrats, but where were the Battle Regiments? Where were the dots? Yeah your tank uses Obsess, Aegis Boon and Featherfoot good to blink tank it that's fine but I really did not see you guys doing anything that special.

Then again I guess being older Apathy members if there's a Salvage dupe you guys will brag about getting 29 Relics banned again as well right? Sorry any respect there was for Old Apathy was lost that day because anything you accomplished was done via exploitation and cheating.

We wanted to challenge ourselves battle regiment no thanks, dots cant really do much of that because healers have to focus on cures plus its a 99 mob so lots of resists so its better just to focus on the healing on the mage side.

oh the videos are good for sure. it's good to see linkshells having fun and out exploring. the type of mob killing you guys are doing it what has kept the game interesting to me this long. my little static group i have been doing leves with since november do alot of these also. it's fun times especially if you guys voice chat. keep up the good work and hopefully se gets more mobs like these to fight soon.

In a serious note, I do believe I am an intelligent player, which is all you really need to do good in any game, I don't believe me to be the best, but I do believe I'm better than most. As far as the mobs, they are easy, anybody who has a group with 2 lancers, 2 healers, and one good tank can do this fairly easy. The Basilisk is a bit harder due to stuns, but is easily heale through. When 1.18 comes out and hate is a 1 to 1 ratio, we will do it again due to the probability of it being a lot harder and much more micro managing will be needed.

Than you for all the good responses, and for the haters, don't let it get to you, it makes you look fat. ;D

I'm sorry, but the 99 Goblin video (the only one I watched) is nothing short of embarrassing based on all the /brag in this thread.

In the first 30 seconds, here are the things you did wrong:

- Used Tempered Will (completely useless ability, takes up AP, your actions should be full without this)
- Used Sentinel a whopping 9 seconds before you pulled, leaving 1 hit worth of it to block actual attacks
- Pulled. You shouldn't be the one pulling. The real kicker is that you pulled with Provoke. If you guys are so awesome at strategy in this game, you would know that the first action against a mob generates 0 enmity, and the next action anyone does will pull hate if you're not doing more "hateful" things than they are. tl;dr an Archer's buffed multishot (with Stoneskin up) should've nailed it first, then you provoke. Doing so puts you above them in hate, and makes everyone that was below the Archer miles behind you in hate for the remainder of the fight. In this video, you lose hate very shortly after the pull because you didn't follow that rule.


That was all in the first 30 seconds.

The main other problem with this (and surely the reason why it took 8 of your 7 mins to kill it) is the lack of DoT, which in your above post you claim just isn't possible with the healers always needing to heal.

In a 3 man group, we were able to keep up Poison, Bio, Dia at nearly all times without much trouble, and the entire fight on 95~99 Gobs should really take no more than 3~4 min. MAX with >3 people<

So much wrong, yet so much brag.

The fact rank 99 mobs are killable at all at rank 50 just shows how broke the battle system is in this game. I can imagine we're all in for a shock with the new system when mobs of rank 60 become challenging in a party of 8 rather than easily soloable.

Well, unless they modify SP gains heavily, if killing rank 60s is hard at 50, we'll be doomed when the cap is raised, seeing as your SP is optimal at the 10 rank gap and can get pretty low on things only 7 or 8 higher than your PT.

liked just because this is what the game needs. more people that are willing to do things other than leves or just crafting and actually exploring and finding challenging things to do. you may not be the first to do any of these mobs, but get a thumbs up for going out and finding these things to do to make your game more enjoyable for you and your ls.

Im not perfect I never claimed to be but I will do the best that I can to help promote the game my tanking is not the best but I take pride in the fact that my team was able to kill the 99 mob without exploiting or anything like that it was a straight up fight, Im sure there are others ways that the fight can be done, but like I said its about the community and trying to push everyone in the game that says there bored or nothing to do I also think this would be a good server wide challenge not just lindblum but all the servers in the ffxiv community

Errr...

DoTs are hands down the most powerful abilities in the game and do the most consistent DPS compared to everything else.

You can take down the goblin very fast with DoTs.

your very right rent but for this fight we were going to use dots but you can see in the video chubby wubby got 1 shotted. We had to change our strategy so mages had to heal and I didnt want to chance failing so we just stuck with the tank and spank.

You have to have a good amount of cures for this type of fight its not as easy as it looks the mob is 40 lvls above us. Really all I care about is killing the mob without exploiting, it can be done.
