I will admit that a direct sequel to FFXI would be nice, especially if we could get the whole world this time and not be limited by the PS2. I went back to FFXI after not liking FFXIV and it was different. Some of the changes were good, Abyssea was fun the first few time, then it got boring. Tried to go back after Unicorn was merged and I logged in only twice, the new Voidwatch system doesn't interest me at all.

FFXIV should grow into it's own game, sure you can go and take some elements of FFXI, or any other game for that matter. But just FFXI did attract a large following at one point it was #3 in mmo in the world, it just didn't adapt to the new reality of mmo quickly enough to retain all of them.

Awesome idea FFXI-2 would make my dreams complete and if ppl didnt like it they could bounce. But sadly i think our time of living, breathing worlds in mmos has died for a few years at least.

I love how people who bought a FF rpg here and there are like "FFXI" sucks, when FFXI players played for the effing development of this shitty game, and what we paid for is not what we got. Honestly if people knew anything about SE and looked at XI's patch updates you'd see its an effing cash cow right now for SE compared to the other garbled up crap they spit up and give. Too bad they ruined the game.

Most of them didn't seem to even play XI past lv20.

I think just make party can be great. Too tough in FFXIV to do party. Play with everyone in the world was great. Not just the little group of your LS.

probably said already by someone in here... nope not gonna search within the thread... gonna say it again... it's some really small stuff so it doesn't need to get implemented right away, it just adds little bit more feel to the game, that's all... FFXI had this, I didn't really care much for it back then but because of FFXI I got used to it and when I couldn't in FFXIV it scared the crap out of me I was gonna miss it...

As I say to all the people who want FFXIV to be FFXI. Go play FFXI. I want a more unique set away from FFXI. I do not want to play Final Fantasy XI, I left it for a reason when I got this. If I wanted a clone I would just go back and play that game, its already been made and whoever wants to play it, it is there. It was a very interesting and fun game, and I personally loved FFXI. But no thank you, I highly disapprove of FFXIV ever being cloned into being a FFXI.

It says Final Fantasy XIV (14) , not Final Fantasy XI-2 (11-2). Thank you :)

Was I referring to people who would like to just improve 14? No I was not. As I said, for everyone who wishes to play 11 or wants it to be just a clone with better graphics (Which has been said in this forum itself) then I say, go play the game that is already out. This is not their "new romp" it is just another one. FF11 is still rather strong and people who wish to have the exact same gameplay should play the game that has what they want. Instead of remaining on a game they wish to be "cloned" into another. So, as I said before, to those who want to play FF11 (not a combined mish-mash of the two) and to those who want 14 to just be 11 with a prettier package, then play FF11. It will save a lot of headaches.

And once again, the people who said and still are saying they want it to be a FFXI-2 , also mentioned that they want it to be FFXI, with just nicer graphics, those are the people I speak of. I said my peace and it is not to those who just wish for a better FFXIV, it is for those who just wish to overwrite FFXIV. Thank you. XD

Hehe to be honest, I had the same problem, I panicked when I first saw the boat and couldn't get on. Then when I suddenly zoned in (Along with all my friends who were still up at the gate, which is nice XD never just run to the boat and then barely miss it, and then want to put sugar in the ships engine >.> <.< .. which i never did.. I promise.. ahem) I was recovering from my heart attack XD. And I agree, it shouldnt be a clone, but the good system features would be nice. :)

This is what XI fans want not a direct copy, man you ppl cant read!(Seonfang) Some, very few are saying they want a copy, but for most what Jennistia has listed here is exactly what XI fans were thinking XIV would be, and thoes arent really crazy outa way demanding expectations.
Instead they ignored everything that made its original MMO so great for soooo long, and it ends up being one of the worst mmorpg's ever made.

People really just get up in arms when someone says they do want an exact copy... it seems to really grinds some peoples gears

As for not reading I think you should take it upon yourself to figure out and reread what I said. I said my comments on this subject apply to those who want an exact, carbon copy. I said I supported a well thought up mish mash which combined good attributes of both games. I also said, for those who want an exact copy, (if you read back there are people who said it) that I think it is a foolish idea. Thank you, come again.

Once again, for all those who cannot read. I do appreciate the idea of using good attributes from both games. I do not approve of making a hard copy of FFXI with just some pretty graphics. So instead of jumping down my throat, attempt to read my statements. Also, for all of those who are still confused and wish to insult. I would like to see good attributes exchanged, not a clone with a pretty face.

This title in itself says "SE just copy FFXI in FFXIV", which I do agree. This thread IS misleading. The title of the thread itself is imposing a thought of just flat out copying. It should read (as to what a lot of people are now changing this thread into being) "Square Enix, FFXI can be a good basis of some qualities".
