It can't be, as mentioned in the live letter, you HAVE to be solo, there is absolutely no way for you and your friends to manipulate the vote.
I remember that post, and it made sense, in the case where there is only one MIP per dungeon.
I must have missed the official comment that explained that there would be one single player per dungeon getting one MIP point per dungeon max, because the comment quoted in the OP as I understand it, means youget points everytime someone votes for you (in which case, the loophole you were describing doesn't apply).
I would be gratefull if someone could link the official comment explaining this.
oh i see what you are saying. and the end of the dungeon, an "MVP" isnt chosen. you simply get points based on how many votes you got, anywhere between 0-3. if that system is the one implemented, then these japanese have once again proven that they are the smart ones. And like you say, what i pointed out would not be the case where it to be a point system rather than "choosing through votes"
you were informative and apt. my hats of to you for being the rarity in an internet forum :)
''GUYZ CAN VOTE ME MVP PLS WIL PAI GILL''
For all its good, the Duty Finder eliminated this social repercussion. You can no longer choose not to associate with jerks and players that refuse to get better. You can, however, rewards the rare gems that are not like that.
Is it perfect? No. But in conjunction with vote kick, and short of transitioning to a single player game, there's really no argument that it won't help even a little. And I think that many people underestimate the motivation that minions, mounts, costumes, decorations, titles, furniture, and any other vanity features gives players.
