You're not "playing the game" though when they will most likely just tell you to jump off the edge so you don't mess them up. It's clear by how you're talking you're either 12 years old or are a very immature adult man baby, hope that relic sees the light of day outside of easy instance farms and cooling it up sitting in town with everyone else and their weps(that most probably didn't buy).

This is one of the most pointless threads ever made, and that's quite an achievement in this forum. It's 12 pages filled with people saying the exact same thing. If you want my opinion nothing will ever change and if you have never come across the sort of player to be wearing the worst armour while having the best weapon then you must be new to MMO's.

People who buy gil to buy titan I can assure you would buy gil regardless. Personally I wouldn't sell Titan runs because of the risk of getting banned, but it is not the sellers fault for them buying gil. Nobody but the buyer is responsible for that no matter what you say.

Using the argument that there is nothing to use a relic on, isn't that down to personal opinion? Just because you only think you can use relic on coil doesn't mean everyone does. It does make runs faster whatever you choose to believe, and that in itself is a nice bonus considering how many runs you have to do to get full Darklight on only 1 class/job.

Saying that people will never do coil with their relic is silly, most will go on to attempt it but if they want to get their relic weapon now then they're entitled to that. You will absolutely NEED a relic weapon to even take part, and +1 for shout pugs so what's so bad about getting it early?

This thread is full of cheap shots by little snowflakes who want to be the best and can't because everyone is getting relic weapons. Yes people will be bad even with relic weapons, but surely you should never determine a persons skill by their gear!? I learnt that very early on. It's the same in every MMO pretty much, only skill is very important in this game. If people feel the need to buy Titan runs they will regardless of what you say so my advice is to find a new way to look for members, because it seems you're looking in the wrong places if you focus on gearchecks only.

Paying a group to run you through a hard instance isn't anything new in MMOs. Heck people do the same thing in FFXI with delve bosses. So I don't know why people are complaining about this now. Group selling the run is happy person buying the run is happy to get their relic.

Not my practice, but happens on my server. :D

I could care less what people do with their time/money. If you join a FC that knows how to coordinate you can get it done for free with relative ease. People like to come up with flowery reasons why they'd never abandon their current FC, but there's no reason why you can't make a linkshell with all your friends and then join FC's that suit your individual play styles.

i AM playing the game as intended - SE has NEVER said everyone is forbidden from paying players with IN GAME money to help them play the game - if SE had said NO, then no one would be allowed to pay other players with IN GAME money to craft items for them or to farm items for them, etc...

I had this same opion I saw players shouting in rev tole 700k Titan wins and I was shouting back at them saying. DO NOT PAY THEM, do it yourself and learn how to play.
I earned my relic without buying it, I wouldn't want to cripple my wallet or cripple my knowledge of a fight or lose my sense of achievement.

fix for this is simple, if youre dead you dont get a clear

I'm posting this because I keep seeing more and more crafters on my server selling crafted items. Infact, one of them is selling their items for 2m where the people who are getting items are more often than not even crafters; they are battle classes 50% of the time.

These crafters aren't helping you. You aren't learning to craft. You're just going to need them again the next time you need items because you didn't learn how to craft. Even that aside, it's downright saddening to see players resorting to having to "buy" their items and even more upsetting to see our player base SELLING these crafted items. What happened to just wanting to play the game?

We've been joining pugs and helping them and "giving away" crafted items to people who ask.

Sorry, I'm with the other guy. Colors should be used sparingly for emphasis, not on all text in every post. You're going to irritate more than a few people with that... Over use of colors is why IRC chat clients and networks have options to strip out the color codes. Unfortunately, that can't be done here, so you'd be doing everyone around you a courtesy for using them for functional purpose rather than "individuality."

This is what I've been wondering. It's clear this is a fight that needs a team where most members know what they're doing and can perform their role well while evading all the moves. But it's not a difficult fight really, it's just about a team working together, learning the patterns and following the plan. That doesn't go very well with the pickup group randomness, so I wonder why people use so much time moving from one PUG to another instead of forming a team and progressing with it.

It took our group 10 hours total event time from our very first try to our first win. It was a bit much (and I was a big reason for that as I had trouble learning the bomb patterns in phase 5 and kept getting killed while being the only WHM) but I would imagine it would still be much more effective timewise than trying to complete this in a DF or other PUG.

You missed the point all together, and i don't feel like teaching you common MMO sense. so i'll let you go ahead and sleep with that. Crafted items and an actual fight that requires lots of thinking and basic hand-to-eye coordination are not the same thing. the fight is meant to get you ready for the harder content which you won't be able to do because you can't pay for that.

If you were playing as intended then you wouldn't need to pay for people to win a fight for you. like i said i do not care what people waste their money on, a fool and his money, etc. i am just telling you paying your way through content will not help you in the end.

Neither does farming 500k so you can give it away to some elitist over geared content locusts with a lot of time on their hands. I'd rather not do either and wait on the eventual nerfs incoming..

And it's none of your business to tell people how to play the game.

It's funny that some people claimed that beating Titan will magically improve your skills big time. people will become a super great player just because of one boss fight? lol

I played with a lot of people who defeated Titan HM on their own, barely notice any difference. some of them still make a mistake and die during CM/AK farming.

stop swaggering about your in-game accomplishment. just because you beat something in video game doesn't make you better than anything.

Absolutely. None of the titan skills are really fungible. It's not going to make your bards silence better or your group control add health/positioning. The dps check is a joke with being able to stack an extra dps instead of the second tank. It's basically just a twitch mechanic for weights, the rest you can just follow everyone else (if you're not just stacking for weights already). And it's tuned to the point where some people just physically can't get out of weights due to latency/ability. So you have a big group of people who are stuck at a point where they can't finish it because of latency, and another group stuck because their parties constantly contain 2+ people from the first group.

We sold tons of titan runs and it is just hilarious how like half of the server got their relic due to carry from an FC. And its even more hilarious seeing those ppl at the Coil entrance, knowing that they will fail horribly hard until end of time since they failed to titan as well and didnt manage to kill him. They are happy to have their relic yes, we are happy to get some fast cash yeah, but in the end they will get stuck in coil anyway. Pretty sad for those FC's taking some of those carried ppl with them not knowing that they will give them a hard time in coil :D

I sure like to earn stuff and if i bought a relic then it would be well almost worthless to me. On the flipside if you can get through the content you bound to run into something as difficult and then there might not be anyone to carry you through and the group will drop you eventually if you dont step up.
I ran into some people with Relics that made me question their means of acquisition i knew Titan kills were on sale but i didnt expect you to have so many buyers.

If you have to buy yourself through Titan, you don't even deserve a relic.

It's funny how they say they try to justify it by saying they are good players that just ran with bad groups, and the majority of the people they sell these runs to have lvl 30 accessiories lvl 40 armor and weapons they made no attempt to better their chara and just paid to win so they can sit around and wait to be carried through coil

Hehe, I see this discussion going around, around and around once more in a circle of confusion. Dictating how someone should play their game and patronizing them to do play it one way doesn't justify ones integrity of a good player.
If you want to argue why and to who your paying top gil for a primal kill for relic, that's another thing. Still, in legacy servers, the economy is different that those of new player servers. Who's going to have 500K but a dedicated player or maybe a gil-farmer.
One argument can be made that your paying RMT this gil so they can turn it around and sell it on the market. If players pay for this gil just so they can get primal kills, then that's RMT conspiracy(even on new-player servers.
(careful who you deal with, you could get banned)

For many people it's about a simple concept called opportunity cost. You could pay 200k for a 5 minute time investment titan kill, or you could spend 50 hours wiping to titan with DF/Pugs. How much gil could you farm in those 50 hours, and how much frustration did you save not partaking? More than 200k, and a crapton, I hope. Simple minds.

I'd rather main a weathered short sword than give 1 gil to some elitest/cheater/exploiter/rusher/rager/etc who is most likely trading your gil for RL money. Have some damn patience Titan is being nerfed in the next update.

ITT: Sweeping generalisations and hyperbole stated as fact.

If for example I have plenty of gil floating around what's to stop me paying some mercenaries to help me get through the content? I get my relic, they get more gil, win win.

Time = money, if someone wants to save themselves time by paying gil, let them, it's no concern of yours, even if it is 'silly'.

I am sure if SE were radical enough to present an option where you could pay real money for an instant level 50 character creation, someone somewhere would probably pay for it. And I am sure that same person would also get bored and stop playing because they would have no connection to that character, no sense of accomplishment. Yet, they'd still pay despite this. I haven't paid for titan and don't plan to just because I'm stubborn. I have however bashed my head off him for 20+ hours of just fighting, not counting time spent on breaks and looking for parties. The fights not that hard after you've had a bit of practice. I can make it through 29/30 runs without getting touched. I've also busted my ass to get decked in DL so I'm not undergeared. The problem I'm having? Unfortunately my progression depends on 7 other people competent enough to not stand in crap they shouldn't be standing in, and considerate enough to not be standing here with a grand company weapon and trash accessories.

It's insane. He follows a pattern. If you're one of the people that has mysterious "lag spikes" every time you enter titan, then memorize his damned pattern until you can recite it in your sleep, and start moving before he does his attacks. There's a damned good infographic out there with the steps.

Eventually bans will result when SE's focus shfts. Yjrtr str ldo sltrsfy complaints of FC's that do this not honoring promises when they fail repeatably in the dungeon, or try to blame it on you and not refund you. Be very careful, people exploiting this are not going to be trustworthy.
