Bahamut Lair gear equal to Mythology gear?

Well it is too soon since the game has only Ak for Mythology Tomes gathering.

I'll wait to determine once Patch 2.1 when the 2 new Hard Mode Dungeon and Crystal Tower is released.

These may be new methods of getting Mythology. Crystal Tower may actually treat Mythology like the Philosophy tomes.

The 2 new Dungeons may even provide Mythology as well but a little more for completion since they maybe 8 member dungeons

(it is assumption but I believe Hard Dungeons are 8 member dungeons in SE definition.)

i believe that crafted max iLv is 70, is it not?
it's on par with darklight from phylosophy, but we're talking about higher iLv gear here
moreover, if there were higher tier of crafted gear, we still don't know the stats nor the iLv so we can't discuss it

So back in the day I heard that Bahamut's LABYRINTH was going to be the high end gear and it wasn't coming out until AFTER Crystal Tower, now is it just a translation error and they meant Coil or nah? Cause it seems like Crystal Tower would actually be the best gear then Bahamut's Labyrinth comes out, this is assuming again that coil isn't what they meant.

Darklight cannot be melded right? If so crafted properly melded HQ version is not on par, it is better than darklight.

These are my thoughts EXACTLY. I mean, there are currently 8? battle classes in the game or 9 jobs, and it would take several months to obtain just ONE full set if you ran 8 AK wins every week, so maybe SE is thinking that Crystal Tower gear will only be obsolete for the select few people crazy enough to spam AK that much for so long, and even then they'd still have 8 other jobs to go.

Meanwhile, it's much faster to get it from Binding Coil, but to efficiently tackle that, you'd want the Crystal Tower gear.
Hopefully the tome source is expanded sooner than later though. The AK bottleneck is trouble.

the way i see it,
there are already people walking around in near full coil gear sets.

haven't seen someone with more than a single piece of relic armor yet

which one is the hard one to get again?

true, i missed that
HQ crafted would be better than Darklight, but Crystal Tower gear will still be better
i presume that Crystal Tower gear will have iLv 80, as there's a gap between iLv 70 and 90 right now

what's the iLv of Coil gears, 90?
so basically, we can just grind Coil using Darklight/crafted gear

Except not? AK may be the only dungeon that drops the mythology tomes (out of a whole 2 dungeons that are end game), but it most certainly is not the only way of getting them. Defeating the HM primals also drops tomes and it most certainly faster by at least 4 times (8 times if you count the average premade party waiting time).

It takes 5 months. In 5 months AF2 is not going to be the best gear. We will surely have a major content update before then. There is no way you will have best gear by farming mythology tomes. SE set it up this way on purpose. Why else have a 300 per week cap?

Only raiders can get top gear.

Agree with OP and agree wholehearedly with this. This sounds like the perfect progression with the limited content available atm.
