It is actually for people to have a easier time to get Gold medal.

Stage 1 of this fight can be completed easily with only 2 people within a minute. With over 30 people in that one fate only about 1 to 8 will get Gold while the others will only get Bronze and silver for maybe a lucky 1 to 4 people.

Prepare for unprecedented amounts of harassment from people exploiting this if you do that.

I had a conversation with someone on my server about this a few days ago. He told me about a conversation he had with a GM related to this and they said it wasn't intended to be done this way and that in the future this, and all other fates similar to it would be adjusted. I love that it helps me get those last few levels quickly, but if it wasn't intended to be that way it's hard to be annoyed when it's changed.

Hey "Mr Piss on everyone's parade" did you ever stop to think that when SE was fixing the AK and WP "exploits" that if they say the farming of Dark Devices for XP to be unintended they would have fixed that as well?

It absolutely does not affect you. But YOU are here making one of the first threads I've seen calling for a direct nerf to a clever use of game mechanics to speed up leveling once per hour or two.

exploit or not, the trouble is more about the reaction of the other. let's say you play dragoon, you can't get this exp the other get, mostly because dragoon in AoE is not...well you get the point.
what is your solution? wait the other have gather all this exp? or try to get your medal by doing the fate?
if you choice the second solution you will be insulted believe me, did happend to me.

@silverharp: pointing thing that mustn't be done, it's your role as customer. other point a loooot of thread was created for ask the increase of the reward on the leves or give us daily to do. sadly for now the only answer we did get was:
the leves are not means to be used for level up, but for give acces to play mode different than what you do normally. FATE and dungeon are means to be used for level up.

i think they have miss the point that fate have become ugly, mostly because of this news trend of the fate party (i have done some too) i don't find this...fun... i found it stupid and boring and choice any word that please you. i hope they will understand this and make us get more different way to level up. or they will have changed the monster party into fate party...

Hey that's what people called the speed runs right? I'm glad someone brought this to the forums attention hopefully they do something about it. I'm still blown away by how desperate people are to level in this game.

"Clever use of game mechanics" is code for "something that is probably an exploit but I'm too dishonest with myself and others to admit that I am exploiting."

People sit in groups and camp this spot waiting for it to pop so they can earn a quick 245,000 XP. These are people who aren't doing any other FATEs or dungeons in the meantime because of this low hanging fruit. There is no reasonable justification for the obscene amount of XP this FATE gives over every other fate in the game. Exploiting is bad, mm'kay?

I won't stop until it's fixed. I don't care if I piss off a few people who lack integrity in the process. Thanks for the bump!

It's not an exploit.

"Clever use of game mechanics" = What happened in FFXI with Ninja. They where not meant to tank.

Exploit = Making it work differently to intended.

Now let's check here.

Are those mobs part of the fate? Yes.
Are they intended to be killed? Yup.
Did anyone do anything to make them act in a way they shouldn't? nope.
Did a player make them not count towards completion? No. S-E coded them like that.
Does killing them break the fate in anyway? No, it's still completable and mobs work as they are intended.

Of course, if you go by the definition of exploit when it comes to gaming. If you go by what the word really means, then no, it's not bad.
