Should SE be a little more transparent?

Even more transparent than now? Nah, I don't want to know what they eat for dinner or if they have hearted underpants rather than rainbows. I think they are sufficiently enough transparent, as they are practically telling us how the game is developing day after day.

I pretty much agree with everything Betelgeuzah has said.

We'll get info when we get it. We'll see results when we see it. If they want suggestions, conversation, or suggestions from us, the players, they'll ask or give us information to toss over and over endlessly. Honestly, they aren't required to say a damn thing to us (but maybe when they start charging!) It's not like they are just hiding information from us to be mean or something. They say things when they can, and Yoshi has seemed pretty happy to send us little letters here and there. Besides, I'd rather have them being focused on their tasks at hand then constantly informing us about what they developing on a day to day basis.

Well at least we knew what they wanted to achieve. I would have stood by SE if they continued to try and realise those goals.

Given that we don't even know what they want to achieve anymore, we therefore don't know if we should stand by SE and bother waiting for the changes (or the results as you call them) to come to fruition.

The world doesn't revolve around me, as I'm sure you've already informed me. This is about SE's appeal to their wider audience. They've already proven they are capable of giving us the gist of what they're doing; after all, when talking about the armory system, Yoshi gave two options that they are considering, and he explained those options vaguely to give us an idea of where they were going. Why they can't just do the same with ideas like companies and combat is beyond me.

It doesn't take me much effort to stay or leave, but it doesn't take SE much effort to just give players a vague idea of where they are going with the game either.

While you seem to hide your true intentions behind this talk about "wider audience", this issue is all about you wanting to hear more information from them. The wider audience will know once we get the results, you don't need to worry about that.

It does take them quite a bit of effort if they want to make sure it doesn't blow in their face. Whatever they say is an official promise, regardless of the wording used. If we were more honest and realistic about these things there would be less of a problem, but we aren't. Needless hype is only detrimental to the game.

There's no need for them to be more transparent. If we get a look at ALL of their considerations then we may get our hopes of up for things that they inevitably find they can't deliver upon.

Many companies attempt to be transparent and instead just let people down on content.

Well they can give us two options, one realisable and one which they intend to achieve. That way they never let us down if they figure they have to fall back onto option A if option B doesn't pan out.
