Jump No Longer Necessary after Patch 1.17

I agree we don't actually need it. People will want to spam jump in town though so I'm sure people will still beg for it.

All this talk of jumping down a cliff and im having thoughts about final fantasy 8 when they did jump off a cliff (well did if you choose too) guess jumping is a big part of final fantasy after all.

Well, we already know they are implementing it and I for one want it. I think this is the first step to it and in 1.17a we'll get the full feature. (considering Yoshi talked about both of these things at the same)

False. Most people supporting jump do NOT want to spam jump in town, and a simple stamina requirement will prevent that. But I guess most jump haters don't apply logic to their opinions.

Jumping is still coming regardless. No stopping the wheels of advancement at this point. If you wanted to make a stand, you're too late.

I agree that jumping in this world is pretty meaningless. One can hope that they will change that a bit so the function won't be useless.

im trying to guess what you are saying because i do not understand soo my answer is yes. i want to jump up a cliff im suppose to jump over. i don't want jump because it looks cool i wonna be able to jump over a fence at a camp or a small cliff because thats real... thats what warriors who carry big axes do... they are in shape and being able to kill a 100 feet tall monster and not be able to jump is silly.

FF13 had jump in the battle and air combos and that was cool. im not saying i want that in this game but jump has been in FF games since ff7 in one way or another so saying falling off a cliff in a run animation is realer and more immersive then jumping off a clff is silly and stupid.

I can hardly see the ability to jump over small rocks, fences etc. being useless. It'll be a nice extra feature and it'll get rid of the feeling of being attached to the ground.


People complaining about the jump feature being added need to get over it. It's there for the people that want it, if you want to jump, jump. If you don't want to use it then there's a simple solution: Don't use it.
And if that doesn't work for you, well I would suggest finding a new game to play.

Yes... the amount of rocks and small fences is simply overwhelming.

Jump remains necessary for the many many many various other reasons mentioned in all the other jump threads.
