Common sense tells me we'll see both. I think FATE NM's are going to be bigger scale nm's sort of like the Kings that were in 11. We'll still see the normal NM's we had in 14. The only reason why they weren't so highly camped was that for the most part, they didn't drop anything spectacular. I hunted my fair share of NM's due to liking having a bit different equipment than most others and I don't remember ever having any competition. In fact most times if anyone was hunting that NM we just teamed up because they re-popped so quickly if you wanted something specific all you had to was fight it a few times.
I like that system, I would just like to see worthwhile drops. I remember how excited I was at 3am when I finally got Leaping Lizzy to drop leaping boots, running around my house shouting I GOT THE BOOTS I GOT THE BOOTS. My mom thought I was a lunatic. I hope we see some NM's that live up to the "Notorious" moniker.

The FATE sysstem itself could have many different spawn conditions (see GW2) and perhaps every HNM is infact tied to the system. Now, I hope to gawd that is NOT the case, but as the OP suggested, we haven't been given any confirmation, as they have not shown any open-world HNM type mobs that weren't apart of FATE, yet.Quote:

Albeit the hush-hush on anything HNM (with the exception of their beloved FATE system) could suggest that they have no intentions of providing it, but usually SE has no problem coming right out and saying "we have no plans to include blah blah blah at this time...". Since they haven't quite done that yet, and there has been many many requests for varied HNM content outside of the FATE system, I'm still hopeful it's just something they are keeping under wraps for now.Quote:
