Umm... something amazing like past Uematsu tracks used to be?
Actually the Xmas theme that played in the towns during december is pretty close to this style and LL was so much less annoying during that time.
Now when you go there the horns and clangs are way too epic when you're just trying to craft a goddamn lure. It's way too active to be listened to for hundereds of hours.
I'm still yet to be annoyed by any of the Windurst area songs. They're so amazing.
XIV music has a bit too much of everything and it's playing too loud (I don't mean the volume).
I know what you mean about being too loud. I loathe the 80s Hair Metal battle theme. It makes me feel like I'm playing a Tri-Ace game. I miss the epic "call to arms" feel of FFXI's music.
La Noscea, Thanalan, and Coerthas all have really good themes, but everywhere is kinda just eh. It makes me sad that I muted the entire game so I could listen to my own music.

Q.Q
There are really nice pieces in the OST. I'm just so excited to see where they'll fit some of them. This one actually reminds me of Burmecia. So it could be Ala Mhigo's theme or something ;P
This one reminds me a LOT of FFXI:

Valkurm Dunes, complete with Gobbies, Sheep, Crabs, and for the fun of things, Fat Chocobo.
Music should be lively and joyful like Selbina. OwO
