Problem is the selling point you asking bring bad players and that bad news for us lol at the end people would join ffxiv and leave for wow again or blizzard new mmo. So i do see pvp being fun and great and it may be use a lot i don't see that lasting forever but who knows i may be wrong :) i know that i just enjoy pvp when i'm bored and need to kick the shit out of my friend ass lol.

I hope the Frontier is during a specific time in the week (WoE was 2 times in the week in Ragnarok online) and not 24/7.
With a specific time in the week people would know "now is PvP time" and enough people for PvP would be there. With 24/7 PvP, the people would be too much distributed in time during the week.

And there need to be a good reward for the winner team/guild.

Oh, and I heard the PvP in DAoC was good and Yoshi-P is a old DAoC PvP player ^^

There haven't been any MMO eSports yet, but GW2 is trying for it with the MOBA like game-mode they have planned.

MOBA styled pvp is the hottest pvp type right now. I don't play League of Legends but I do play Smite. I think if they can make pvp similar to those games, team and objective based, it'll have alot of replay value and it would constantly be enjoyable.

They won't be allowing open/world PvP. They've been clear about that already in the past. So, let's not start getting the PvP-All-The-Time people's hopes up.

I agree with the dueling thing as well. Just leave it out, for the same reason as the person you quoted... the people following you around, spamming duel requests and smack-talking you when you decline. Attacking/killing mobs you're trying to kill for a quest or whatever. I get so sick of that crap in other games. Trolling/Harassment to the extreme.

If people want PvP, there will be the place for them to do so. Let's just leave it at that.

Also, it's been noted by long-time Eve players that the higher sec areas are actually safer from PK than the lower sec.. because the lower sec areas are where they're more likely to be challenged or have their asses kicked. Higher sec areas, they can camp warp-gates and have a chance of escaping.. and the hardcore PK'ers are drawn to that because that's "where all the sheep are".

I've been podded in high sec space a few times myself. And it wasn't even for anything I had on me. I was in a newbie/starter ship. Each time was purely for the yuks of it.

That on the other hand though could be a dual edged sword.

Unless the PVE spell team and the PVP spell teams are totally different, it would take time away from PVE if they are spending all of their time trying to balance a whole different PVP spell set.
