SE just make a vanity slot to solve all your issues with this.

Huh?

Who is talking about new pieces of anything? The basic mechanics of a vanity tab/remodeling system mean you have item A with stats that you want and item B with the looks that you want. There's nothing new involved. You are using the look of an item you already own to overwrite the looks of another.

+1 vote for vanity slots

I am ok with Vanity Slots with these 2 restrictions:


1) "Vanity Slot Gear" still counts towards your 100 slot inventory.

2) If "Vanity Gear" is turned on, the character must have Body Armour and Pants (subligar is ok). I do not want to see people doing dungeon runs in bathing suits, reindeer costumes, yakutas, etc.

2-a) If I can toggle off viewing other peoples Vanity Gear, then I don't care at all.

And that is wrong and not what SE should be doing.

I never understood the reason SE gave behind vanity slots. they want us to be easily recognizable.

but our classes are tied to our weapon...so as long as they can see our weapon anyone can know what class we are. the only confusion that might arrise is with CNJ/THM because both can use wand like and cane like weapons.

but given how crap-tastic whm weapons are, almost everyone uses a chiran. so even that is obvious.

Not having Vanity for what we are wearing doesn't make any sense. in fact for the most part i'd be putting my AF gear in a vanity slot. or things that are equipable by all classes anyway (officers gear, RSE when it is released)

That and the reasoning that was given doesn't make much sense, because the class identity issue with vanity slots could be easily solved by giving those slots the same restrictions as regular slots!

this is absolutely absurd from an immersion standpoint. why would i be showing one item although i'm wearing another? i think it's just dumb. i vote no.

Which is why people are asking for vanity slots that only allow them to wear something that falls under their class/job.

So as long as you a caster, you can wear any robe in the vanity slot. Not a cobalt breastplate.
