Similar monsters from FFXI to FFXIV? (examples)

some FFXI designs are in other games too. you might hate the game then since there taking stuff from other FF games and making it for FFXIV.

If Kobolds come from real-life folklore, where do the Ixali and Alamj'aa come from? I found that the the Alamj'aa and Mamool'ja look identical, which is why I linked them on the first post. But I know that not all Final Fantasy monsters are based upon things in real life.

I just recently got a book at Barnes & Noble about Monsters and Demons (I'm into mythology, paranormal, etc.), so yeah.

id say about 90% of the monsters comes from folklore, mythical animals, legends, youkai etc. did you know even chocobo do that? :P

Lets add a kyubi type of mob :D id love to see some fox-spirits with many tails ^^

Apparently you've never played FFXIV or you'd realized there's already a lot of FFXI mobs in XIV...but I'm sure you were just ignoring that fact on purpose or there would be a problem with this observation.

Yeah this is what irked me to be honest, because in XI Flans were actually failed Blue Mages essentially lol.

flan have looked consistently similar in the FF series.

I wouldn't say they look any more like XI's puddings than any of the recent FF's flans (bar XIII)

I never got to fight a flan in FFXI, but only in FFTA and FFTA2, as those were nearly immune to damage from weapons, and only magic could damage them? They are a pain in the butt as well.
