Next expansion needs to be Open World

then sorry but i don't see a reason to play exacly the same stuff over and over and over again with just diffrent skin.
It's madness.
We need innovation,changes - risks to be taken to move forward. Otherwise it will end up just to be a weekend game to pass the msq and forget about its existance for another 2 years.

It already is sadly. A weekend every 4 months game, which is why they force you to keep subbed if you want a house.

house does have a value if you have companions to spent time with in it.
once that falls apart and it does more and more each week then i don't see any reason to own a pixel house to be alone in there.
the whole *prestige* nonsense in regard of less accessability content will fade away sooner than anyone can expect i wont have any value if there is nobody to cheerish it.

There’s literally a system in the game already that limits the amount of characters you can see, and it isn’t the first game to do it there’s not excuse.

They have been giving us excuses for years to say why they cannot do things that other games already does, since ARR i remember they giving the PS3 excuse, and we've been believing it for some reason when in reality it isn't that complex, it needs to stop, we're paying for this and have been paying in my case for more than a decade, the game is not a charity, if they cannot do it with their current staff hire someone that can do it, other games have already done it.

Doesn't matter, this game now has an audience of people on PS5 and Xbox (and possible future of Switch 2). Those console players don't have the ability to toggle certain options like PC players do (afaik they can toggle battle effects but can't do anything about player count and what not).

Aint happening. XIV is running on the Luminous Engine. The same engine that was keeping XIII from having bigger maps 16 Years ago. XIV and the engine are already at their limits.

No it's not, it's running on a custom engine that took parts of the code used in Luminous (Luminous being the engine that FFXV used, not XIII). Also you're thinking of Crystal Tools which was the engine that FFXIII and it's ilk ran on, that FFXIV version 1.0 used, which was scrapped long ago.

Oops, MB then. Thought they used it for FFXIII-2 onwards until they experimented with UE4 and the Luminous for FF16 and noticed that it doesnt work anymore. But isnt the Luminous Engine just a heavily modifed version of the Crystal Engine? Anyways,... doesnt change the fact that this game gets held together by duct tape.

Full OW really wouldn't do much for this game. I mean the ''overworld'' is already pointless. No PvP, copy pasted "mob parks" with 100% scripted drops, complete absence of any secrets or hidden stuff...

All the meaningful (rofl) stuff in this game happens in duties you teleport into via mouse click.
