7.1 - More Wuk Lamat

My thoughts have always been 7.1-7.3 have been set in stone awhile and full recording complete. I expect when 7.4-7.5 begin the pivot to what is coming for 8.0 we see Wuk Lamat less. I hope. The post-expansion EW patches were god awful and I skipped MSQ for most of it and I expect I will for this as well.

That was exactly what I said too. The scene where he talks about the twelve and the new world etc. But that rework is tiny - a small cutscene addition. The bulk of the timeframe was getting the voice actors to record extra lines and go through the additional testing which takes around 1-2 weeks.

That rework was minor and not the same as entirely scrapping the plot to not involve Wuk Lamat or Solution Nine. That would be like saying they could just decide to not go to Ultima Thule at all in EW in just 2 weeks.

Also, some voice actors may not have that amount of availability so they probably got lucky to record the extra lines on short notice.

SE develops an entire expansion and cut it in to pieces to fill the 4-5 or 6 months without content so they can work in other projects.

You are not going to see something new until the next expansion (8.0)

I don't think there is anything wrong with Wuk, it has more to do with the writing it self as it is, just being realistic and that it is too easy to find a scapegoat, when you need to look into other directions instead.

WL is not the actual problem but just the main symptom of the real issue which is absolute horrible writing in general.
For most players however WL is the biggest problem and source of anger and frustration. This character cannot be salvaged. If they really wanted to they could easily phase her out and just have other characters play her parts without completely rewriting the story.

But according to YoshiP the ONLY issue with WL was just that she was too insecure and i am sure they made here even more confidant in the patches.

When I was in primary school, a boy used to chase me down and touch/cradle my face every playtime - I used to have anxiety attacks because I knew I was gonna spend the next 20 minutes of play time running away from this freak. The inevitability of Wuk is giving me the exact same feeling. Absolute dread.

That's probably it for me then, I decided to stick around till 7.1 out of curiosity to see if they could salvage the garbage story.

If the Devs show no willingness to fix their broken game then it will die in a few years, why should anyone keep investigating time into a boring mmo when nobody will be around to play with in a few years time?

6x had extreme content droughts and not enough writing talent when the game had far more goodwill and interest. As it stands there will be a unsubbing wave within this patch or the next.

I think there already was, why else would they dip into their FOMO events like fall guys and the return campaign so early? Usually those are reserved for droughts to try to drag people back. I fully expect a rerun of the FFXV, FFXVI, Dragon Quest, and Yokai Watch events before 7.2 at this rate.

Burst out laughing at work reading this, but you're not wrong this is sort of how it feels. I see her in the screencaps and I'm immediately put off.
