Why not just have it in both. In game and out of game. Someone may be at work who owns a ps3 and wants to just read the lore for the hell of it but can't because low and behold it's only in game. Happy medium for both sides.

In this case I actually agree with Rokien. I think it would be best if the game's lore is revealed inside the actual game.
Not to say you're wrong that it should be in game but like I said earlier it would be nice to have it in both so if you're in game you can read about it and if you're not say if you're at work or at a boring function and decide. Hey lets read over the lore it is always an interesting read for me. Pop over to loadstone on webbrowser weither it's cellphone or what have you and you got the lore to read and keep you happy and busy... though just reading and posting on the threads at work (which is where I'm at now lol) is keeping me busy between calls

I think it would be neat to have newspaper vendors on city streetcorners advertising and selling their latest articles. Heck, we already have a specific newspaper tied to each city-state, so why not? You'd be able to find The Harbor Herald in Limsa for instance. The lore articles in these papers tie specifically in to the game world and its surrounding events, rather than mechanics or patch notes, so I think it would fit right in.
Heck, we don't even need vendors. Flyers can be posted regularly on town walls or on a bulletin board that players can select and view. These kind of things only server to further enrich the game environment. There's no real downside here.
And of course, for those who like to read things they missed on the Lodestone, they can do that too. These things aren't mutually exclusive.
I would really dig a in game version of the papers.
Well don't get me wrong. I'm not against having a lore reference outside of the game, but I think it's important to be able to learn everything there is to learn about a world from within that world. If this information is later released online, that would be fine. The most important thing is that you don't *have* to go outside of the world to find an explanation to something that is inside the world.
Hear hear. Also better story characters please and dialogue that's more comprehensible.
