Viera Changes

Another thing that I haven't seen being touched on yet is it looks like they haven't increased the textures on the ears as much/at all compared to the hair (at least for ear 4), which is painfully obvious when they sit right next to each other on the head

I'm overall happy with my face 4. Skin looks fine in benchmark itself, face geometry is almost 1:1, except a little rounder nose if you look from the side.
Lips are worse, yeah. Hopefully they will fix that. And raven black hair is now grey even in benchmark itself, that's probably my biggest complaint so far.

Very sad about the lip and nose changes on Viera male face 3. I love the option of a dusty nose, but it should be something to toggle on and off. It significantly changed the nose shape of my character and is very harsh.
The lips are way too matte. There’s no shadow or definition to them, so they don’t fit the textures of the face. Bring back the highlights and lowlights please devs, and upgrade ear texture with hair. Pleaaase.

Hmm I dont think it looks "fine". THe one to the right looks pretty washed out, hair and skin lost its colors and contrast. Entire face looks bloated up compared to original. Also eyes lost its "spark" - no more piercing glance typical for Vieras. Also playing dark skinned viera, and got simillar results than you :)

And no amount of Fantasia editing will fix this due to limited character creator, because all these things are out of our control.

We have the same face (4) and I feel like we were put through a beauty filter but it went all wrong. If you are happy that is great for you tbh. I think your character went from lovely to dull and I would not recognize that it was the same character if I saw her. Her eyes look larger, nose rounder and her lips are completely different.

Benchmark has Gamma Correction at 50 by default it kills the colours. I retook same screenshot at 0 correction like I have it in game and it's much better colour wise. Black hair is still too grey though.

Lips are afaik mostly just a result of the fact that you no longer have stark black shadows wherever light doesn't directly touch.

While I think the CC makes the characters look overall worse than the actual benchmark trailer, I have to say I am really sad about the subtle changes to the lips and eyes for my F1 (and it looks like all faces in general suffer from this). Where the top lip had a nice curve to it, it's now a lot flatter and loses some charm. Not to mention that lipstick options have no proper gloss anymore, which is really sad. It should definitely be a toggle/option between more matte and more glossy.

And I don't like that the default eye makeup is so much stronger now. There is a very thick eyeliner line at the top that wasn't there before and I personally wish we could opt out of it for a more natural look. It looks way too intense!

Like character on the right is still pretty and not TOO stark a difference but its not the same feel

Overall, the viera face look largers, as if they've collectively been stung by bees. It's weird. And the changes in lightning makes it look like their eyes are further apart than in the old look. Honestly, I'm glad I don't play a Viera (I'll just have to modify one of my retainer), because male like female, the update feels like a downgrade.

To be fair, your's is one of the few I've seen that gueninely look good with the update.
