The Stormblood Capstone fight pretty much killed my enthusiasm with the game.

They definitely need to add an ilvl cap to all the trial fights at the end of the each expansion's MSQ.

Since without one on all the past expansions, most people will be synced to a higher ilvl that was functionally even possible to achieve during the expansion as armor also gets synced to Savage raid weapons' ilvls...

If you want iLvl sync enforced, then be there when the content comes out.

If so many people are clamoring to run old content with iLvl sync on and no echo then your Party Finder search with iLvl sync on and no echo will fill up instantly. Faster than the Duty Finder.

But guess what? That's not what happens.. You gotta wait. And wait. What do you think that means? How does that compute in your brain?

What it means is that not many people actually want that. Or that they simply don't care. They're happy to help you progress through the story or they want their tomes and they want to get on with their day. On their terms, not yours.

Game has had steady attack potency and ilvl creep over its duration, but it has exploded in the past 2 expansions. I wouldn't be surprised if the low level players deal more than 2x the damage they used to in ARR with less overall buttons too.

They really need to put Yoshi and lead devs to replay the story, force them to play Healer on top of that so they can see how dissapointing some things have become.

The First Raid tier released highest ivl was MAX ivl 600

Two additional tiers have been released and now max ivl is 660....but for some reason is not cap at MaX 600....which is already way over gear

Okay, that definitely makes me wonder if I should even try to make it to that point lol. This is sad.
Again, I'm not asking for content to suddenly become hard, I find current mechanics for most bosses reasonable enough, I just find that things die too fast to even become slightly threatening.

We'd probably be back to the lazy entitled players claiming to be the "casual" player base crying that they're supposedly "gated" out of content because they don't want to do mechanics and DF keeps grouping them with ppl just like them.

I remember doing Shinryu my very first time back when Stormblood was the current expansion. It was by far the hardest fight I ever experienced up to that point, and I was so overwhelmed I dreaded ever having to do it again. The big diagonal swoop attack that covers almost the whole arena felt basically undodgeable.

Of course, that was a long time ago and I was newer at the game. But a huge factor is also the gear people had on at the time. Playing that trial now, everything feels like a breeze and Shinryu dies way too fast.

I completely agree with you OP, the ridiculous way this game syncs down players (or doesn't) is just sad.

Also, sorry about that jerk in your party. Most people in this game seem to be pretty cool, but there are always going to be jerks in this world wherever you go. Some are very impatient and don't like slower runs, and those are the people who will be more vocal and act out.

I mean, it sounds like you're enjoying the game, despite some of the fights being disappointingly brief. If you've stuck with it this far and had fun, I don't think you'll regret going all the way. The story alone is more than worth it.

I mean, it sounds like you're enjoying the game, despite some of the fights being disappointingly brief. If you've stuck with it this far and had fun, I don't think you'll regret going all the way. The story alone is more than worth it.

Funny thing is, Shinryu was basically just a refresher course on past trials mechanics. People cleared it easily the first couple weeks, Then the part of the player base I mentioned earlier got walled by it because ppl moved on to the 2 initial EX trials and they started crying on here flooding the forum with threads claiming it was too hard and they were supposedly being unfairly gated out of doing SB endgame. So SE nerfed the fight just like they did with the bridge battle at the start of HW that the same part of the player base got walled by because it too was about doing mechanics to clear it.

back in 3.0 BEFORE tome gear (i wasnt at iLv) I soloed the fight...
it most definitely wasnt "hard". The only exception was that I think only 1 job could solo it, but im sure plenty of duo combinations could solo it. The only phase that threw me a bit, and nearly made me panic, was the DPS phase, where I thought Id not win the DPS check in the meteor phase... (I did fail it, but the resulting dmg was extremely small)
The 2nd easiest capstone fight was Ultima, where I could barely solo it, IF i was in cap iLv. There was a MASSIVE difference in difficulty between the two. worlds apart, and same can be said about endsinger vs ultima. not saying endsinger is hard, cuz its not, but theres no excuse for thoradan, below iLv cap, he is a joke, and was back then too.
