My point still stands. It's completely useless for this game considering you can hit most caps with one set of gear. If you really want that extra invigorate/ballad of magi/presence of mind/fist of wind/whatever, wear the damn AF. Or equip yourself before a fight. Having it mid battle is ridiculous.

How about this... you can have your stupid gear swapping only IF when you swap any gear at all your character must go through a magical girl transformation type animation and be unable to do anything until said animation is done... because we all know you can't do anything or use abilities during a MGT...

This would also help for the realists who don't want it because you can't do it in real life... though I tend to follow that though because really even if this is a game and a fantasy world erm... you can just switch out a suit of full plate in the middle of a fight it just really doesn't work like that but if you go through a whole magic transformation that is fine and works and fits so to say...

In the end I just thing you humans are needlessly silly/stupid for even wanted something so unnecessary at all... really... I mean it...

Oh also stop with the stupid oh only lazy people blah blah blah line... you all use it way to much whenever someone doesn't want what you want... "you don't want this because your lazy" or "you don't want that because your lazy"... no really some things are just stupid and unneeded can you not understand that?

Yeah and that's where you lose out:

You want to push yourself as far as possible but you also want to gain more TP while using invigorate..you either lose potential performance (since thats truly the main draw to that body piece) and gain more TP over the battle, or you lose extra TP and gain more performance...if you were able to swap, you wouldn't lose anything, but eh, this game is designed for the "one size fits all" crowd, going to have to beg SE to make every piece of armor enhance all of your abilities and stats or sooner or later there will be a need for some kind of swap system.

Considering people don't use macros in this game still. People still complain about changing jobs taking forever because of having to switch a lot of gear with the delay when 1-2 macros solves that problem and they still won't do that.

Ohboy.

It's called picking and choosing. You couldn't swap out a certain piece of armor in FFIX mid battle, you had to choose what really benefitted your character in the long run. Gearswapping is just hoarding for the sake of it. I did pretty fucking well in XI without needing to gearswap, yet you would get shit for not doing so, especially as a spellcaster. No. We already have enough nitpicking in this game as is.

Actually just so you know... I never use macros... and I actually have no issues at all switching out to different classes or jobs though I only have 2 jobs so far mah... need to work on that.... hmmm time to hold guns to LS members heads to start playing again... any ways the lazy line is just tossed out way to damn much...

And I'm going to stick with the whole make it fit you want gear swap make it have a MGT attached to it ok... then everyone wins and I can then live out all my Card Captor fantasies when switching gear... >.>

Pretty much all the more reason to NOT introduce gear swaps. It was a system mechanic that gave people too many excuses to utilize script macros because they didn't want to work within the limits of the games limitations, and like you said those who didn't use it were at a big disadvantage so your stuck with cheating or being decent at best.

Funny thing is, the current setup in XIV actually screams for Gear Swapping in certain situations because you can't stack all preferred stats with just 1 set of armor, for example for nuking you want less resistance as well as more damage, it's usually either/or, not both unless you're insanely lucky on melds.

Not really, alot of jobs were at a huge disadvantage when it game to gear swapping like RDM, SMN, in some cases BLM, THF, RNG, COR, because of the plethora of necessary gear required to perform adequately at their job. Most of the jobs that didn't suffer from this near as bad were mostly DD oriented jobs because they could stick with one or two weapons and more or less a TP and WS setup and they were good to go.

The game actually screams for the opposite, just because there are options does not mean gear swapping would be beneficial or necessary as a whole when taking into consideration of the pace of combat,the tactical timing and positioning that's already required to perform combos, server lag, and the current ease of the game as it is. With that said, we don't need the game to turn into FFXI easy, it's easy enough as is.

Really? lol gear swaping in XI was horrible. If you were in Dynamis and playing your (mele) job right your character would disappear or blink out for 2-3 mins while doing JA/WS. partly from macro and partly from the lag...
Not to mention the 2-3 sets of gear you would need to carry with you.

How did I know this was going to happen, I wish I could say I'm disappointed, but for that I'd have to be surprised.

Really? Lazy? I have macros for all my job swaps and separate ones for jewelry and I am still very much against gear swapping in battle. I carried around 5 sets of gear just for Ninja, not to mention all of my other jobs. I like that it forces you to make decisions, to sacrifice one stat for another. All things perfect in the FFXI style of gear swapping and every single job would be the same. As it now, you sort of have to specialize a bit but there is still room for flexibility.
