Do I have to define what an alt is? FFS. This OF, SMH.
Part of the problem is exactly this. Everyone wants the plum plot. So they face significant competition and when they lose its over a week before they know whats next and each time their odds are getting worse as the pool shrinks and so the competition for the same spot increases.
My personal is a small - I grabbed whatever I saw and was lucky to win the click. I been trying to move to a med but no luck yet; but I will just keep trying.
I have FC mates that keep losing on smalls and really seem to just want a house.
It would be nice if the lotto system just allowed you to check "I do not care about the plot put me in for the best odds" and then let players walk away. Right now bid sniping highly favors those with lots of free time; especially with the FC/privates now competing for the same plots. a FC waits till the last hour and then nukes the lowest bidding plot.
Unfortunately, the ward system and SE's need to balance out world populations don't leave players without houses much choice.
DC travel has turned out to be better than I expected when necessary. If your FC and your friends use Discord, that's an easy to keep in touch even when not on the same data center (or online at all for that matter). Leveling queues on Dynamis aren't bad. It's the level 90 content where you're generally going to run into problems if you don't have a group on Dynamis to run with. Since I'm not going to be crafting when I DC travel, lack of retainer access isn't a problem as long as I plan out my inventory before traveling.
And if your FC isn't going to treat you like a normal member of the FC just because you changed worlds to get a house, is it worth being in that FC in the first place? A FC is supposed to be a social circle, not a marriage commitment. Friends don't stop being friends just because someone moves to a neighboring town.
Certainly there are going to be exceptions on why someone stays to be with their FC (maybe they're running a venue so you need to be part of the FC for access to certain housing functions) but it shouldn't hold back the typical player if a house is something they really want.

Theres plenty of plots here no bids even a medium is available. They are not going to add more wards just so you can get a DESIRED plot. Get a house and attempt transfer when it's possible.
ok my mistake but there's still personals with no bids

Not going round all but theres at least 10 dotted around the personal wards and wouldnt be surprised if Empyrium has houses also.
I'm sorry but i don't think 50+ topics where people cry because they did not win a house in a lotery with 200+ bids on the same house, is very productive.
I have seen how this goes on my server. The almost whole population of housebuyers, bid on the S-tier houses on the same lot in the same wards,
leaving the other L and M houses on 0 bids.
Meanwhile crying they didnt win and because of that the housing system is crap, jada jada jada.
Well, i did win. A Large house. With 1 bid on it for 5 days. Mine. I have decorated and enjoying the view now. Very happy with it.
I just hope that all the houses that still have no owners in my ward, will fill up in the coming weeks, when people actually wake up and see that there still enough to choose from. But yeah, its not on the spot they want it, so the whole system is crap. Meanwhile half wards with a shitload of empty plots will remain how they are.
Ah well, what do I know. Im just an elitist, right?:rolleyes:https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c1/fc...f5da97e701.png
Yeah - to be fair, I agree on that front. I mean, the two (small) plots neighboring my (small) house in Ward 27 of The Goblet are free and I check them, out of curiosity, fairly often to see if anyone has bid on them; to date no-one has shown them any interest. There are a fair few other plots in the Ward too, but I don't check on the bidding activity on those ones.
I do understand peoples desires for certain wards as I too wanted mist, but it took me 7 years of living in Goblet before I got it. I just dont understand the silly no house posts when there is houses. At least purchase a small anywhere so at least the demand for a house hopefully gets met. Then they can work on meeting the demand for upgrades, relocation etc.
