It'll be interesting to see what they do for the next relic. Given where it takes place, we may see yet another instance to play around in, but there may also be some overworld elements.

FATEs and Trains are content. One is player led, the other invites player participation. FATEs in the last two expansions provide goals and rewards that are every bit as relevant as any other content out there.
The fact that you don't enjoy doing them means, well, that you don't enjoy that sort of content in this game. And that's fine. There are any number of players who do enjoy them, I come across them on a regular basis as I work toward leveling up other jobs. Clan hunts are another form of content, with both armor and mounts as (eventual) rewards. Crafting and gathering yet another form of content, with some interesting rewards available for purchase via the scrip you earn from gathering in Diadem and crafting using those materials.
Not everything has to be Full Battle Mode Full Time, although there is plenty of that out there as well.
You cant try n dress people down while also being an arsehole. Just saying.
Whether we like it or not the game isn't designed to have super long grinds for things. Some love that aspect, others don't. Content lasts as long as you want it to. Some like myself run content for the fun of it. No need for tangible rewards all the time.
It's also funny you complain about bots but if Diadem was integrated to the open world that'd just invite those so called bots to flood it there instead of an instance. Same for Eureka and it's Bunny farming
Sure I can, I just did.
Most content isn't worth doing because it either lacks a reward or fun, some even lack both - So a lot of people really just opt to sit AFK and wait for their Retainers to bring them free stuff. The discussion is around bringing some of those systems that lack one of those into open world, or making open world more engaging as a whole by combining systems.
Bots are already spam doing duties, they don't care what they do as long as it min-max profits at a low level regardless of open world or not. That's an entirely different discussion.
Here's some engaging reading material though.

That's why that person's on ignore. They're just talking out of their arse like they know everything, as they venture on this wild ass tangent. Like I said earlier, it's clear something else is actually bothering them. To attack someone they don't know and throw wild accusations around is some cowardly BS and a sign that one might need to take a break from the game.
There's nothing more to talk about here. :)
Good, so you'll stop responding to me. lol
Only calling them as I see them. Reading your posts as pure projection, acting like I'm the only one calling people out, making shit up and being divisive. But we're all know-it-alls, I'm just saying what I want while people like you reject discussion with excuses.
So it's clear you don't get what im saying. I never said we don't already have overworld bots. I'm saying all doing this would achieve is ushering in even more bots to the overworld that are now otherwise locked in an instance. It's not gonna suddenly make people want to hop into this content again. People will say they want a more engaging open world yet how long will that last? When BLU dropped the OW was full for maybe 5 days then back to normal. The only way I see what you want working is if the devs go the way of BDO and start making the game become more of a job than a game.
Also side note wanting to discuss is fine but you came here taking shots at people. You don't get to do that then pull the innocent highground card.
How will you punish me?
If we're so concerned about the bots that we have to design everything around no-fun, then they've won and SE lost. That's really not something we should be proud of when talking about feature requests.
Yes, I want more stuff that last longer than a single weekend. I've been subbed for 500+ weekends and maybe a handful of those have actually been engaging.
The solutions provided for Diadem were "Put on a podcast and grind", when at the very minimum maybe we could grind AND wait for a queue!? Woah, crazy concepts being thrown around here! lol
