Players that go AFK in Island Sanctuary is a Problem

Yes i understand that and it's why there is a 30 minute timer which is more than reasonable. I believe the housing servers and Island servers are the same so yes housing does affect the Island as well if you afk in your house if I'm not mistaken. I don't see the issue really. We had a 30 minute timer in the height of the xpac rush and long queues getting in.

The Op isn't worried about server load they simply don't want people to afk in front of the login NPC. I don't see that problem going away even if the timer was shortened which it won't be in my view. If anything making the timer shorter would only make for more people being kicked and sitting in front of the NPC.

I already know this, and it's the zero on my numeric pad that let's me click through. That's not the point. I don't want to be kicked and then come back to find my character covered up by someone's big ass mount. It's unsettling!

Why in the world others do not read where I said in the original post, that I knew how to click through and interact with the NPC. Maybe that's what has a few confused when I added it covered the NPC, Still not what I'm saying. I don't like finding myself clipped through some of the large mounts in pitch darkness, or wings flapping around me. It's disorienting and annoying besides. A forced dismount would have been better there.

It's the ones that go afk while mounted that is the issue. Just couldn't put all that in, in the title. I hope this clears things up for some.

Problem is: players go AFK on huge mounts covering the NPC etc etc.

Solution: what has been offered.

Because it's definitely a solution. I use it whenever someone on the Lunar Whale ends up on top of the NPC. I know roughly where the NPC is so all I have to do is hit my Confirm keybind twice (NUM 0 on keypad is the default) to target and interact with the NPC to get to my island.

I'm on my island in a few seconds while people who prefer to waste their time complaining instead of using the available targeting option are still standing next to the NPC complaining.

I still agree that SE could have made a better choice for exit point but it's still not preventing anyone from going to their island.

i came back to see if anything constructive was coming out of this and no some angey players who keep necro bumming this topic up they have kicking in the islands so more belly aching is not going to change anything after another month they may remove the kick option when interest drops off.

My only issue with the target filter option is that I still get chocobos as potential targets. Is there something I'm missing? I thought chocobos were considered pets or minions or whatever.

The only target I have checked is NPCs/Objects (I use the keybind a ton anyway, since I do a lot of gathering).
