Crafters and Gatherers need their own inventory

I put my dyes in the saddlebag. And only General Purpose ones I get from venture crates.
For craft dyes, I carry pigments and only craft the dyes I actually need, when I need them. You can carry hundreds of the base pigments to cover all craft dyes with minimal inventory space used.
For beast tribe dyes, I fly to them and purchase what I need when I need it.
Same with vendor dyes, I only buy them if I need them.

An increase is entirely possible, they've done it before with the normal inventory, if it wasn't necessary they would've have done it. Island Sanctuary will in fact have its own inventory. I covered this already. Inventories like that aren't a part of the character info. They exist separately to be referenced to the character in the related instance. That's why they can keep introducing these things. It's how you can hire more retainers and not have it be a strain.

It be nice if they added storage for crafting mats. I have 6 retainers full of crafting mats and fish lures. Be nice if it was account wide where your alts could use the crafting mats to.

Crafting inventory would be nice, but I think the bigger issue is all the tokens they keep adding to the game that for some reason don't just go into the tab.

There are legitimately dozens of currencies that waste inventory space and SE keeps adding more, despite adding a system designed to handle those currencies. It sometimes feels like half of the team never communicates with the other.

Saddlebag and increased stack size were appreciated, but I don't see why it needs to end there. A material storage is an incredible QoL item that can be found in other games, and it's always one I greatly miss when I come back to XIV. Yes, of course we can all take the time to sort inventories, and let me tell you, I actually really enjoy cleaning out my inventory (no lie, makes me happy), but it's still a chore.

I normally keep about 2-4 items in my character's inventory on any given day, but when I've gone on my gathering and crafting sprees, I've been able to fill it to max within a single day...multiple times. It gets really annoying when you have to start shuffling things between the various inventories in order to keep working on whatever it is you're doing. There's also just something really nice about already having supplies on hand when you need to craft up something, but unless you extra retainers, there's no way you could possibly store all the items you'll use. And for those who may be thinking "But you can just go farm up <whatever item it is you need>....yes, you're right. But again, it's really handy having materials ready and waiting for when you need them.

This would be a massive QoL update for gatherers & crafters.

I have one retainer that holds crafting mats, and she is at 150/175. I strongly suggest you start dumping those mats that are just collecting dust that serve no purpose other than to save you a porting cost you may or may not make in the future. I'm an omni crafter and gather all my own mats and even I don't need that much space, or an additional 6 bucks added to my sub fee.

What would be nice is for you to figure out how to solve for X instead of the dev team taking on your burden in order to create an easy button for you.

This is my 2 retainers before EW launch. Not much has changed, aside from the gear in the bottom right being desynthed.

My inventory grid can be seen in the middle.
I can craft all the things.

The devs don't need to do anything. Folks just need to learn the inventory management game.

This is a really good idea, thanks for the suggestion! I'm gonna start doing some of this now.

Need to level my tribal quests though lol, this is definitely a good reason!
