I think you're right. I made my one reply to the dude who likes the changes as they are and respectfully disagree.
But OP made a very well constructed detail about the issues with the job in its current state and I hope we can focus more on that rather than the singularity in the thread.
Getting to level 90 doesn't mean you know how to play it or understand the intricacies of the job....case in point your statement on kaiten and lack of understanding on why removing it and turning iajutsus into wet noodle auto crits is a bad thing shows you are indeed not well acquainted with the job. If you're fine with the changes cool, whatever, but don't insert yourself into a conversation where you offer no in depth reasoning and simply dismiss the more in depth discussions of why the changes are bad.
If we had that mindset we'd still not have hagakure back. Ya know, that skill they removed and then returned to us in a later patch in ShB after a lot of outcry about it being removed.
Annnnd there it is. Please stay out of this conversation.
Again I still play SAM & frankly it isn’t about getting to 90 but still going along & if understanding a job defines in the realm of savage/extremes then again absurdity & a META-slave mindset into it,
Unless you’re also comparing achievements obtained,
Come on really?
Anyway I don’t need to press further than what I’ve stated to have played the job that I find no fault with the changes & rather content with it.
PS: No idea why you let one ability removal discourage you strongly enough to throw a dozen tantrum posts that’s already far too common.
PSS: What more rational & constructive do I neccesarily need to speak my point of view? I appraise it! Still works fine! It’s far fitting & casual friendly! Shouldn’t be excluded from participating in event, raid sorts except those that puts boundaries & limits
YOU are the singularity in the thread, my guy. I mean no offense, but you are one of very few who seem to genuinely prefer the changes.
Also, I would like to clarify that while the vocal majority is clamoring about 'one button' or ability, that's just the culmination of what's wrong.
Plenty of people have pointed out 'multiple' issues compounded WITH the removal of this one button, as several things in the SAM kit were adjusted to 'compensate' the loss, but these compensations are just overall a nerf by flattening the damage.
SAM is about building to big finishers. Now, the finishers are barely stronger than the combos that build them. Which begs the question, "What are we building resource for if there's no payoff?"
That's what the 98% of SAM mains are crying about. The job identity and flavor is gone in favor of a smooth, flat plateau instead of a towering peak.
Please understand that the outcry is for a reason. You do you, though. I'm happy that you are happy with the current iteration and I hope you aren't perturbed if the devs decide to roll back the changes made to appease the people who gave feedback at their own behest for the polarizing changed they themselves have acknowledged to be controversial to the job's design thus far.
I respect your input & your overall reasoning behind it which is persuasive & made me think twice & to be sincerely honest with you I might have been singled out in this thread due to a preposition that I am respectfully opposed to it, lastly nowadays to agree/disagree in a civil manner is hardly encountered, especially the recent posts of individuals that just found it irritating of my opposition.
To further my stance in support of this I play on a Ps4 Console & not interested to resort on PC (Been there with WoW). It bothers me to have overflooding hotbars all over my screen with so many abilities to keep on track on meanwhile taking the real immersion away from enjoying the game in my own eyes & view of the outer world.
Why I don’t care for statistics damage/meter/performances? Unlike WoW this game doesn’t seem punishing about deeming which jobs factors the most over the others (only those players creates that mindset which can be good for members within their own community & bad when it comes to be reinforced as an absolute META for the rest…I am strongly opposed to that).
Why am I an advocate for ability pruning? Helps me to build more muscle memory & have more spatial awareness of the game’s surroundings + mechanics of evasive AoEs etc., all while still enjoying the job.
I don’t object for PC users to extend above & beyond, its only the nature they create “systems” which I am wary of & coming from WoW & trying couple savage previously just couldn’t stomach it…at what result? It’s just glamour & couple ilevel differences,
Anyway, going back to your response I truly respect it & it’s sad that’s turning us piled up against each other like a Roman colloseum.
Personally it would’ve been better if at least they brought Kaiten back & merged the AoEs as a one combo similarly to PvP’s.
