It's almost as if you didn't read my first post at all. I never rejected revamps. I reject the idea of changing the very base of the race because some people want to play Hyur with pointy ears.

I don't think that would look right either. It might just make the rest of their proportions look even stranger, and next to other characters they might have a weird bobble-head look to them.

Head size seems to be kept consistent between different races, which is why Elezen end up with the small heads relative to their tall, stretched-vs-human-proportions body shape.

Well then i guess you’re not looking in the right places? Irregardless it doesn’t change the fact it isn’t a minority lmao. Completely missing the main point. Male characters still make up a significant portion of the populace. They aren’t a “minority” and it’s quite ignorant to even think they are. Can’t compare them to 2%’s or 5%’s.

I think I have seen a mockup where they scaled specifically the female heads and it did look better. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...zen_head_size/ I personally think it's a bit too big, but it doesn't have to be this drastic to make the world of difference. I am in agreement with male Elezen though, as their proportions are fine for what they are aiming for (lanky, Elvaan).

If it’s what the devs say and do, then who are you to say what’s intended or not? Besides it’s whatever is better for the playerbase. I don’t understand your viewpoint lol. Yes there are more female characters but that doesn’t change the fact the male characters aren’t in the minority lmao. You’re comparing male characters to things like the races that have a 2% or 5% play rate.

I'm all for this! Maybe if a revamp is too much, maybe a bunch of new faces, eyes, mouths, facial hair and etc (this for all races).

I imagine that after female Hroth they will spend some time fixing the Hroth and Viera hairstyles situation. After that, they could spend some time making more customizations. Another thing that would be cool would be expanding the colors available for hair/facial hair.

They don't need to do all at once, but adding a little bit each patch or a bunch in the new expac would be great!

By definition, if more than half of characters are female then they are the majority and males are the minority, regardless of whether the exact proportions are close or vastly different.

And I don't understand yours. Changing Elezen to Hyurs doesn't benefit anyone besides Hilda fanboys. It won't bring in new players, will cost more dev time than any other race as they will have to resculpt everything for the new Elezen bodyshape (as they have said before they manually change everything for every body type), and will more than likely cause quite a few people to quit.

Every argument for changing Elezen can be applied to other unpopular things like Roes, Hrothgar, and niche content like savages and ultimates - but Elezen are always brought up first because people want to ogle waifu with pointy ear. It's shallow, ultimately pointless, draining to resources, and will ostracize those who want to play a race with a non-human body type.

|ew faces are great. New animations are great. Changing a non-human body shape to more human because some people don't like it and apparently cannot play the other four races with human body types is not great.

Yeah. It's not a small number, the split is roughly down the middle when accounting for the proportions across all major regions.

I've seen a lot of requests over the years for more customisation where male characters are concerned. I've also advocated for more of it myself.

All of the previous races need a hard update

It's better to update all of the races, rather than just 2 because there is plenty that can be picked apart about every race as it stands that needs to be improved

Hyur's are really boring looking & overall, show the character creators age due to how limited it all is

2 Keepers of the moon faces for miqo'te need to be completed, they don't even have the nostrils painted in & look unfinished. I'd also like to be able to change face markings so I'm not bound to a face type as well as sharp teeth for both seekers of the sun & keepers of the moon; because they do mix clans & would have mixed features

Elezen need skin texture/ natural blush/ better contour- Because otherwise they look very dull, unfinished & plain- I would like the option to add more than 1 face paint/ makeup & non-gloss lipstick
They also need more complimentary LONG hairstyles, braids, better short hairstyles & head size adjustments as well as their run fixed

Au Ra look like scaly rat people. Or like a failed cosplay of a Tiefling & used paper mache to make scales
They don't have enough beast-like options
I'd like to see sharp teeth/ interchangable horns/ extra added horns not hairstyle bound
Add horn tint colour & more jewels for their horns
Fix their run too, they lean far too forward when running & it looks forced

Character creator updates are long overdue but unless more people push for it, just rely on mods to make your character dreams come true

I do recommend making a Megathread- but I believe there is one already, just people ignore it
