I'm trying to say this as safe for work as possible, because despite the vulgarity of her profession, it is actually one of the best examples of toxicity in cancel culture. Cancel culture complaints are absolutely not just a disregard for consequences. This woman was genuinely sorry like I am, and wanted to correct what she said. She had perfectly just concerns, and wonderful intentions. Most people do not deserve to be put through the wringer like this.

Maybe don't make a forum post asking for sympathy when you were put in the gaol then and no one else would know? I don't know what you're expecting.

Clearly most people here haven't been there and have no idea how the system is flawed. I should have kept it vague and not given any input to why I was there. Knee jerk responses that curve more in fascination with personal drama, and less to do with the flawed system at hand do not help. They are harming our community. If we don't look at the actual problems with the way behavior is handled, our thriving community will continue to have problems with toxicity.

You're damn skippy I've never been in a gaol, because I know how to follow rules that I agree to when I sign up for an account.

Also, I think the people that harm the community get put in gaols, don't they? :confused:

We handle toxic behaviour by reporting the player and having them put in the gaol, buddy.

clearly a vague complaint without particulars as to why you were there pretty much opens things up to conjecture.

there is no firm example of a "flawed" system aside from apparently not being told exactly why you were there.

most people it seems are able to operate within the rule structure, so of course would not have been there.

Being put in the gaol isn’t even that big of a deal, and really doesn’t warrant the intensity with which you’ve compared it to much more extreme real life scenarios. I’m sure it feels bad/scary, but from what I can tell it’s just a time out, and a strike on your account. If you snapped at someone or said something raunchy in chat, don’t do it again. If you really have no idea, try to be a little more mindful going forward. Chances are you won’t end up there again, so again, so nbd.

You go to gaol so they have your full attention, as well as being sure they are able to give you a warning before you cause any more trouble. Could their response time be better? I guess. You’re certainly not the first person to report being stuck for hours on end. But I’ve read that you can hasten their appearance by contacting support, which is still accessible from that location. Hopefully you won’t need that advice, though.

It probably is for the better to just not say anything someone could find offensive, even if it's not actually directed at anyone in particular.

Cursing and inappropriate jokes comes so naturally to some people that I can understand them not even being able to remember a specific instance that might've offended somebody.

As someone who has had multiple characters banned across both games, that's basically your last warning before you get an email saying "Don't log in for 3 days."

If you don't think the complaint was valid, file a counter-complaint.
