Can we go back to original FFXIV for raids again

They're not "particularly necessary" for the base-level appreciation of the plot like CT is, but that doesn't make them irrelevant. They are very much part of the full picture.

If nothing else, they're necessary for a full understanding of what's going on in the Twinning.

The Crystal Tower raid was good, but The Shadow of Mhach was awful. Return to Ivalice was way better, and YoRHa Dark Apocalypse seems good too

At least with Ivalice they tried, and imo successfully, melded the world of Ivalice into the world of Hydaelyn. If you were completely unaware of all the games surrounding Ivalice it would feel like a natural part of XIV. Void Ark suffered from just some poor story telling more than anything. Especially when you compare it to both Coil and Crystal Tower, which were its predecessors.

However crossovers like Yorha just do not fit nor do they meld into the world well at all. I said it before but the Yorha stuff feels like the equivalent of them putting a Pepsi machine in Eulmore. As far as Omega and Alexander are concerned, I felt that Alex was more in line with XIV than Omega. Alex, though a stretch, could still fit in, but Omega just felt out of place. It had no real great story, just "I am here to test you and to throw some nostalgia your way". It was disappointing to say the least.

I wouldn't mind if they merged old FF games into XIV, I just wish they would do it more like they did with Ivalice and make it feel more natural.

If there is a FF setting I don't mind them drawing on, it's Ivalice. It's one of the best developed ones.

I think it is all fine because the Omega raids in particular make it so anything has standing in lore because of the Interdemensional Rift. All of the Final Fantasy worlds(and I guess the other game cross over worlds) exist together and the Interdemensional Rift facilitates that. Lore reason for us rubbing shoulders with Noct, or 2B or what have you.

So was bahamut. Really, none of the raids are original if you think about it, all of them were from a different FF.
The only raid that was original was void ark but this IS a FF MMO. They kinda have to add that stuff.
Because I'm assuming the OP means original Bosses which tbh, isn't going to happen anytime soon.
At least for savage, people like seeing returning bosses and summons from FF games.

Well, the world has been enclosed for a century. We don't know how long these "ruins" have been there and the dwarves had only recently made progress through the mountain.

Eden is a bit different due to it being unique to FFVIII until FFXIV. Bahamut has been regularly appearing in several FF games for a super long time now. Also Void Ark had Cú Chulainn who originally appeared in FFXII (though his name among others in the Mhach story come from Irish and Scottish mythology but that's a whole other conversation).

But otherwise yes I agree with you. The game is riddled with references from other games in the FF series. There are many things that are entirely original but they're intertwined with things that have been seen in other FF games. Even the ascians who are something unique to this game have aspects about them that have been seen elsewhere.

I really hope that they dont do such a crossover like Nier again for the raids..I am already not a fan if its done like Ivalice but at least it does try to fit into the story. It gave us a huge amout of it (a bit too much sometimes..) and I could feel like it belongs to the world. This Nier like raid is nothing like that..2/3 of the raid done and it has not even tried to explain how it would fit here...there is barely any story or character development..and seeing how these points are the more important ones for me then its a huge disappointment so far.

I already feel like they take so much from other FF games into this one, thus barely giving it its own soul but now putting huge parts of other franchises is just a no go for me. If you need to copy then please copy just from FF...
