Probably one of the reasons OP fearedit being a "player trap". That said...
If a Healer or both are dead, then the lifeline is lost (bar a RDM or SMN being in the party), and DPS should then be a secondary concern until their back in their feet (unless its a DPS check, in which case all is usually lost anyway) so having self sustain would be worth it if it can salvage the run and prevent wipes
Otherwise, yeah, Tanks should prioritize DPS, mayhap this is also why OP fears it being a player trap as well
Clemency should probably be one of the skills to go in the next culling. Like the only reason you should really be using it is if you are trying to solo old content.
Figures a dark knight might feel that way. Sorry but it's a really cool paladin skill and should stay right where it is. Nothing more entertaining to watch heals go down and have a pally do his thing and take on the boss all alone keeping dps up and running as well.
it's good because you lose dps everytime you use it, other tanks do not lose any with their heals.
Who on earth even uses clemency when playing competitively? xD
And why should we even consider balancing the game on casual level?
When i see paladin wasting his combo for clemency as a healer, i want to grab them and throw them into oblivion. I would appreciate the change however, clemency as a oGCD with 2.5 sec cooldown and MP cost, would be a nice thing to have.
