Well that fine for you but i'll stick by my position. I have no interest of seeing FFXIV become Ready Player One: the MMO.

I'm going to try to explain this as clearly as possible since I have a hard time explaining through text:
If you don't support the content, provide constructive criticism as to why, and don't do the content.
For me, there's a few things and I'm pretty sure other people share the same concerns.
After seeing the trailer, aesthetically it looks fine. I'm surprised actually, there's not really anything that looks out of place. The color pallet looks very Kholusia and the machines really aren't anything we haven't seen before. The main character does look out of place to me, though I don't know where someone wearing a giant doily and high heels would not look out of place.
The other thing is it's a crossover for major content of the game, and that's really disappointing to me. I would not mind a one off permanent thing like the Monster Hunter trial, but the 24 man raids will span the entire expansion. I know Square has been doing crossovers for all their Final Fantasy games since the beginning and it's pretty much what they're known for. This isn't a Final Fantasy game and this could be seen as a slippery slope argument, because it is, but I don't want to see this as a gateway for other things to take up main content of the game.
I love that they're bringing in guest designers but I really want to see what those guests can do and make original content and characters specifically for this game and not just re use things from other titles. The Eden raid is something I'd like to see more of going on even though I think the Eden designs are pretty ugly.
Hopefully I was able to explain my concerns and it's not too horrible to read.
