That's gonna be a yikes from me dawg.

I'm a fan of not crossing over PvE and PvP rewards because you simply "can't even" with the game mode for whatever reason(s).
I don't deserve Ultimate weapons if I don't bother with the fight, similarly, I don't deserve PvP rewards if I don't bother putting in the effort to reach Top 100.
but the Ultimate weapons already ARE recoloured versions of already existing older weapons that are very easy to get now (besides the SAM and RDM Ultimate Ultima ones). Heck, in the German version the title you get for collecting all HoH accessories is "Living Legend".
That said, I am in the camp that wants older rewards available again, but still tied to ranked feast.
Different style rewards for different content.
PvE is cooperative. It is everyone's shared goal to defeat the synchronized dance dance revolution boss. By achieving your goal, you help others reach their goal. You either all lose, or you all win. Everyone works together to achieve this, everyone gets a reward eventually. Everyone is a winner. Any "competitiveness" to PvE (like world first races) are entirely community-made conflicts, as there is no reward for competing against your fellow players in PvE content. It does not matter who clears first or last, the rewards are the same. Synced or unsynced, the rewards are the same.
PvP is competitive. It is you vs others. By achieving your goal, you deny someone else from reaching their goal. By winning, you make others lose. Unlike in PvE, there are losers in PvP, not everyone is a winner. Winners get rewarded, losers get nothing. Every feast season essentially, there are 100 winners per data center, and every other player loses. Not making top 100 means you lose, and not participating defaults to losing, like how refusing to participate in a basketball game means you forfeit and lose. If you don't show up to the basketball game, you also default to losing, similar to how new players who weren't around for the finished seasons default to losing. Asking for previous rewards to become available is like asking for the 2016 super bowl to be repeated, because someone wanted the 2016 trophy. But it's over, there was a winner and a loser.
Of course, that doesn't stop you from obtaining the 2020 super bowl trophy, or the next feast season's reward.
Good. You folks who earned those rewards should be proud! Can't think of a better way to devalue your hard work and achievements than to have everybody and their mother wearing it who most likely didn't even put in a fraction of the effort.
Now excuse me while I silently cry in a corner (I don't have the armor sets but I REALLYYYYY want them T_T)
Can people stop using PvE as their main defence lol. Your meme scripted fights that are repeatable do not compare to a ranked solo queue game mode where balance differs every season.
People had two chances to get mounts and probably the same for the armor idk I skip armor seasons because I'm not fussed about the sets, probs because I come from WoW where prestige mounts are everything in PvP. It took you 5 years to play 50 games, that's not a developer flaw. That's on you. Next time, read the lodestone. Even when I don't play I read it, it's the only reason I didn't miss the magma roader first season because I assumed the chair was the only mount we were getting and called it quits until SHB since Summoner absolutely sucked.
Ignorance isn't a defence. Whilst we all take breaks from the game the vast majority of people complaining that they can't obtain something were most likely playing during this seasons and just chose not to PvP.
PS: Hopefully more people play now and ladder will be more active. Because based of the responses and attitudes of people pining they missed out on rewards - many were obviously expecting them to get released or mogstationed and thus never bothered because they wrongly assumed they could avoid doing any PvP to get them.
Pretty much this especially considering the content is Ranked. The moment you see that Top 100 you know there's going to be Winners and Losers. The only people given anything are those who hit at least Bronze status and even then that's a goal they have to work to obtain. It's just better for newcomers to look for what they can get for the future as opposed to what they can't get now.
There's always time to learn how to play and prepare for a season. Like to get an idea, I actually had met someone yesterday who hops DC's and runs ranked in Feast, rocking Top 100 armor from the last season. Guy plays Gunbreaker currently as his main but had a lot of skill with MNK and SAM. He hung out in Wolves' Den and helped me and some FC mates learn how to handle our jobs at a better level. We dueled a lot, me losing every time in a Gunbreaker ditto but I watched him and and have a better idea of how I can manage my job. No salt, no frustration, was just a nice learning experience and he offered to help if we saw him around.
It's a competition, but people are willing to help you learn how to play not only in Feast but in PvP as a whole. Just like how someone will teach you how to learn a new job or a Savage fight, people will be happy to help you with Feast/FL/RW and love to see more people play.
Wow, you need to chill out. In the entire thread I was cordial and even conceded other people's good points. You also make quite a few assumptions about my playtime which is irrelevant - when I speak, yes I use myself as an example, but I am also thinking about people who just started the game.
PS: No I never expected these on mogstation or wolf marks, nor would I ever want them to be done in that way.
I am chilled, but I'm also direct. Don't like it just stop responding to me and I leave you alone if you can't be bothered to have a discussion without thinking someone's angry with you, nessun problema. Also, you concede to points, but then when you raise further questions later on it's clear you didn't understand them, else you wouldn't ask a question or raise a point you've already gotten a dead-end answer to. Example? "I am thinking about people who just started the game". Already covered. If any of them can put self-entitlement to one side they'll understand why knowing they'll never get something sucks simultaneously appreciate why things exist in this way.
No assumptions made, you need an active FFXIV sub to make an account here (and login), so your join date of Oct 2014 means you've played at least since then (how much isn't relevant), granted, the Feast has only been around like 3 years, so it's actually taken you three years to played 50 games, np I make a mistake. Ciao.
