Absolutely no way. FFXIV will forever be limited by the lowest spec system it targets, and in this case it will be the vanilla PS4, which was released in 2013, a whooping 6 years ago.
I just don't see FFXIV drop PS4 support until maybe 2 or even 3 years into PS5.
How good is that monitor? Ssd? Quality M&K? Because a half decent one that can run 4k is gonna a dime, plus the GPU to run it. I could Google it but thats gonna put you well into the 2k+ mark. Where the ps5 will be 500-600 and people will already have 4k TVs for their media. Next what about VR capable and 8k media capable? You bought the bare minimum and that's why I am saying the ps5 will be better than your average PC user. That's the way the cookie crumbles. Accessibility, and price point per pound of graphical/processing power the ps5 and new xbox will be king unfortunately.
The PS4 nor PS4 Pro cannot do 4k though. They do scaling 4k which any PC can do as well, but not true 4k. It's a myth to believe such poor hardware even when optimized can expect to compete with a PC in the 4k area.
But to refute the argument entirely, you don't need a monitor for a PC. She actually switches to video output of her TV to play her games, and uses the monitor for her school work.
Anyone know if they announced when ps5 is scheduled to be released or have an idea, I'd like to know cause currently I got no clue.
Plus anyone know if The Last Of Us 2 is gonna be a ps5 exclusive or if it's coming out next year on PS4?
We are talking about the ps5, that will be 4k true capable. And true 8k media upscaling. You cant compete with a PC for that price point, that's the whole point of this conversation to begin with, that the PC will soon be the limiting factor in Game development. The ps5 will be sufficiently powerful enough while everyone is running around with 1080p monitors. Not to mention VR and development of games around the SSD, something few people have.
So your saying that desktop can push true 4k at 60fps on the TV?
I think maybe I've misrepresented my thoughts.
I wanted to say that on the console side, even when PS5 is released, PS4 will still be on the list of supported consoles. And since Square Enix insists on an equal experience across all platforms and on all hardware specs, it's likely that they won't make full use of PS5's powers, just like right now they don't make use of the full power of any reasonably mainstream gaming PC, because they "cap" their gaming experience on what a PS4 can provide on a Full HD resolution.
I just don't see them target anything significantly more powerful than the vanilla PS4 in the forseeable future. At least not until their player hardware data indicate to them that most of their console players are on PS5 already, which is probably like another 3-4 years away.
its going to be backwards ain't it so I don't see them making a ps5 edition.
unless they do then it would be AWESOME here's to hoping though.
