Maybe SE can just clarify that any sell of in-game "service" without explicitly telling the payment is exclusively done with in-game items or currency, will be treated as rmt advertising and dealt as such.
Without any need to change the TOS.

I've only been playing FF14 since early access of Stormblood, so I am still a fairly "new" player, but I have been really impressed how the community really supports the cracking down on RMT in the game. I play on the EU server Lich and I always report chars that are spamming the trade channel with RTM "services". Through my travels in the game, I have actually never come across any bots, but it worries me if it is something that is growing and spreading through the English version of the game. Also, I like how SE will publish the names of accounts that have broken the RMT rules, by either selling or buying services with real money.
Out of a matter of interest, is it the NA servers that are currently infested with bots and spammers of RMT services? Also, as a player, is there anything other than using the "Report RMT" feature to help combat these accounts?
When you compare how Blizzard actively promotes it's e-store in the game, when compared to Square-Enix, it makes me want to support the company even more. I like how SE has not followed Blizzards (and even EA's) methods of getting more money out of it's player base.
I'm not very high level with my farming classes, which might be why I'm not seeing this? I genuinely feel bad for the players who are having to combat an army of BOTS for the various nodes.
Out of the MMO's I've experienced, FF14 seems so "clean" of this type of stuff, but again, it seems like it's something effecting the NA servers? I'm not sure how big the English speaking player base is for the EU servers, but I am guessing due to our lower player base on this side, it's not worth it for these bots/farmers to try and peddle their services here?
Seriously, thanks for telling me what to keep an eye out for, I would never even think to check to see if a hack (cheat) is being used. I guess I have been very naive about people risking accounts, but I expect they are just using free trial accounts and just let it level up to 29/30? , so they don't have to risk buying a new CD key every time they make a new farming account?
They don't need AI to recognize the RMT posts, the players can do that. All the software needs to do is simple text string matching between the reported posts, and if a certain threshold of the reports contain the same string, then block all of them that contain it.
If you see a bot running underground, report them for cheating, not RMT. It will get noticed and dealt with faster. Also turning off say and/or shout in town gets rid of seeing that spam. As to RMT being directed to discord, they should not be allowed to use pt finder to advertise that at all. Unfortunately, some players actually use these services and they will stick around until that doesn't happen anymore. SE needs to crack down on those buying these services.
