Why so much crying over a patch we have not yet experienced?

I want SE to do this for one patch. State the following. We are releasing a patch in 2 months. We are intentionally not revealing anything about it to anyone till then. It's big that's all you need to know.

Patch day...same day patch notes. You will not get any information from now till patch day. Don't beg, borrow, or steal...we won't give you an ounce of revelation.

Launch day...Here you go enjoy!

PLAYER BASE: OMG this is AMAZING! OMG this is BLEEP!

RESULT: Same as if you gave info out before patch. Except no crazy hysteria hype over stuff they have no clue about.

But hysteria and speculation = FREE MARKETING for product...so hence...

No hype. But you will have 100 threads about why we are not getting no info and how wrong it is. People want something to complain about. It doesn't matter if they are 100% happy with things they will always try to find something to complain about.

Simple really. People love to whine and b!+ch and moan about things they don't like in patch notes so when patch comes out they feel like they have merit to keep whining and complaining because they still don't like or or just want to keep complaining because that is what they like to do.

I have no idea why people are complaining. It looks like a pretty substantial patch. They can keep complaining on release day too. I'll be busy doing all the job missions and instanced dungeons. Then I'll craft a bunch of accessories, foods, and medicines and put it up on wards for an asinine amount of gil. Which they will end up purchasing because they rather bitch on a forum than make themselves useful by leveling a DoH class.

It's not so much the fact this is typical for these forums, it's the fact it's accepted.

Can someone make a pic w/ a "Wait 7 days til after patch to make your verdict on what is pro/con for the game." caption?
