Black Mage's quirky cross class abilities

Did i just read someone wisjes to trade second wind and quelling strike for cure stoneskin..on th blm job... Come on guys your pushing it..its blm..not rdm or whm... Final fantasy much?

Just thought to point out that according to the tests done here, Quelling Strike reduces enmity values by approx 20%. The tests were done by the same person I translated for a while back.

Ah I haven't seen that yet. I'll have to bother you for a translation sometime. I do remember testing Quelling Strike versus a very low damage attack and it seemed to give +0 or +1 enmity gain so I don't know if this was an error in testing or if the link you gave accounted for attacks like that.

I just hope, as more classes come out, we get more classes to pull some cross skills from. I support the how and why we are so limited, I just hope to have more options when other classes get released. Right now, all Black Mages are going to have the same 5 cross skills, since the rest are useless to us.

In short, we are all cookie cutter with our abilities right; more options, later, would be nice.

seems to me BRD is the one that didnt make out well with cross class, I dont see any reason for BRD to use many of the THM abilities at all

BRD can use CNJ abilities (cure raise sacred stoneskin protect). The one that got screwed is WHM. The GLA abilities are only helpful if you are cure tanking it seems (which I hear is quite possible)

Tank abilities are very useful on the healer. Shield Bash, Sentinel, and Outmaneuver are all useful if the healer pulls threat. Honestly, I like my healers alive and conjurer is one of the few classes that can use a shield.

BRD is the only job able to Sacred Prism => Sanguine Rite. There's also possibility for Resonance + Cure / Protect / Stoneskin / Raise, again, only bards can do that.

Seems in line with the job's role (support)
